Chapter 297 Behind the Veil
The people sitting below only knew that Ava had a performance today and that she was supposed to play the lute. They hadn’t heard anything about her dancing. Even when she replied to their messages earlier, she didn’t mention it.
The thin mist on the stage slowly faded, revealing her figure.
She moved like a butterfly in flight. Compared to Tylissa’s earlier bold and exaggerated moves, Ava’s dance was more controlled. It wasn’t over the top, and there were no obvious suggestive gestures.
Her outfit wasn’t very revealing either. It showed a bit of her slim waist, and the slit in her skirt was a little high. When she moved more, her thigh could be seen.
But for some reason, no one could look away.
Ryan felt proud seeing how stunning Ava was on stage. At the same time, he noticed everyone around him staring at her. It made him grind his teeth in frustration, but he forced himself to stay calm and not lose his temper.
Ethan sat quietly in his seat. His eyes stayed on her, and everything else faded out.
After his initial surprise, Mason could only watch in admiration.
Keith stared at Ava with bright eyes. He didn’t even want to blink, like he might miss something.
Laurent’s sharp features looked even more defined. He sat upright with his military cap in his hand. If someone looked closely, they could see the veins on the back of his hand standing out.
Ava moved with the music, completely focused. She hadn’t rehearsed this performance. She had only run through it in her head earlier. Now, she gave it everything she had. She had one goal: to do it well. She wanted to give Malory a perfect performance.
Backstage, Noelle and Zoey clung to each other and squealed,
On stage, the camera followed every move she made. Her outfit wasn’t revealing, and her choreography wasn’t as bold as Malory’s original version.
Still, there was something about her that pulled people in.
She wore a veil that covered her face, but her eyes were impossible to ignore. Anyone who met her gaze would look away out of instinct, then find themselves looking right back. It felt like they couldn’t help it.
Zoey pressed a hand to her chest. “Oh my god, I knew she was good, but not like this! It’s crazy. She’s not even trying that hard, but you still can’t stop watching her. I swear, everything about her just pulls you in. I can’t even look away”
As she spoke, Zoey spammed the livestream with praise comments.
When Ava finished her dance, Zoey immediately pushed the door open and ran forward. She waited for Ava to come down, the rushed over and hugged her tight. “Ava, that was insane! You killed it!”

The Morrens are really annoying.
