Ryan glanced at Ava and commented, “Mason actually picked a pretty decent place for you. It’s convenient too-your school is really close.”

He then added with a hint of concern, “When you head back after night classes, is the street crowded? Do you feel safe walking alone?”

Ava gave a small nod. “My classes don’t run that late, even if they’re at night. And right outside campus there’s a night market and a whole food street. It’s packed with students at that time, so there are always people around.

Mid-conversation, the doorbell suddenly rang.

She excused herself and went to answer it.

Standing outside was a man in sportswear. His name was Jensen Abbott, a seasoned fitness coach in his seventies.
