Ryan lingered a moment longer, his gaze still fixed on the coach. He silently concluded that the man at least understood restraint and hadn’t used training as a pretext to cross any line.

After leaving the gym, Ryan drifted through the house. Besides Ava’s bedroom, he inspected the two other rooms on the second floor. One clearly contained Ethan’s personal items, while the other appeared to belong to Mason.

He then went up to the third floor. Among the vacant rooms there, he selected one for himself and began thinking it through. He would need to bring over some of his belongings.

Otherwise, he’d be at a disadvantage. His work wasn’t like theirs-he was constantly on the move. In that sense, he wasn’t all that different from Laurent.

Once he settled on a room, Ryan returned to the second-floor gym. He found a seat, activated his Holoband, and reviewed the rest of his schedule.

Time ticked on steadily. Ava was drenched in sweat by the end of the two-hour training session. Jensen left immediately afterward without lingering for even a moment-or even stopping for water.

Ava grabbed a towel and pressed it to her forehead, wiping away the sweat. Her clothes were completely soaked and clung to her skin uncomfortably..

She glanced at the two men and said, “Make yourselves comfortable. I’m going to shower first.”

With that, she returned to her room to clean up.

Mason also picked up a towel and wiped himself down. He was just as soaked, but he didn’t intend to shower here he still had to head home later and could wash up there instead.

Ryan looked over at Mason and remarked, “As a big-name CEO, do you really need this little bit of training time?”

As he spoke, his eyes swept over Mason from head to toe. It hadn’t registered at first, but it suddenly clicked-this man had clearly been using the workouts as an excuse to show off his body in front of her.

What a calculating man. The moment he spots even the smallest opening, he pushes forward without hesitation, always trying to get more.

After showering, Ava changed into fresh pajamas, dried her hair, and stepped out. She assumed they had already left-but surprisingly, both men were still there.

She checked the time and frowned slightly. “Why are you two still here? It’s already past eleven.”

Mason answered, “We were just about to head out.”

Then Ryan spoke up. “Ava, aren’t you even a little afraid living alone in a villa this big?”

Ava shook her head without hesitation. “No. Why would I be? The security here is solid. No one with bad intentions can get in.”

“Add my details to the access system,” Ryan said directly. “Next time I come over, I want to be able to just open the door and walk in.”

Ava considered it briefly. It made sense-fairness meant treating everyone the same. She couldn’t allow others access while excluding him.

“Alright. I’ll add you now.”

She started down the stairs quickly, but her slipper suddenly slid on a step. Her foot slipped, and she lost her balance.

“Careful!” Ryan called out sharply.

Mason, who was closer, reacted faster and caught her by the waist.

A clean scent of soap drifted toward him. Her lips brushed his cheek lightly, and her head bumped into his

shoulder as he steadied her.

“Are you okay? Walk properly. It’s not like I was rushing you,” Ryan said from behind.

Feeling the arms around her waist, Ava lifted her head.

Mason looked down at her. The woman in his arms was the one he had thought about endlessly, day and night. Instinctively, he braced for a slap-after all, the first one he’d ever received had been from her.

But this time, there was none.

His heart gave a sharp jolt, though he still released her quickly. “Stand properly. Why are you getting so jumpy like Ryan?”

Ryan immediately scoffed. “I’m not jumpy.”

Ava steadied herself and glanced at her slippers. “These are kind of slippery.”

She entered Ryan’s details into the system, granted him access, then closed the door and had him test it.

Once everything was set, she stood by the entrance and waved them off. “Alright, you two should go. Drive safely.”

Mason met her eyes and asked, “Ava, you don’t push me away anymore? You didn’t hit me just now.”
