“Ava…” Mason exhaled her name quietly, almost like it slipped out before he could stop it.

Ryan stood off to the side, completely caught off guard by Mason’s bold, shameless behavior at first. But what surprised him even tnore was that Ava didn’t push him away-she actually allowed it. So Ryan ended up just standing there, watching the two of them locked in an embrace right in front of him.

The warmth and softness of that prolonged hug started to sting a little. Ryan’s brows drew together as he muttered, “Mason, how much longer are you planning to keep Ava like that? You were just soaked in sweat earlier. Aren’t you worried you’re going to make everyone suffocate from the smell?”

If this dragged on any further, he felt like he might actually lose it.

Mason let out a low chuckle. Since Ava wasn’t rejecting him anymore, there was no need to rush things- there would be time later. No point forcing the moment.

He leaned down slightly, inhaling the faint fragrance from her hair, then gave the top of her head a gentle pat. “Go to bed early. If you’re free tomorrow, come by my office. I’ll still be stuck working overtime during the day.”

Ryan’s irritation spiked as he watched how naturally affectionate Mason was being.

In the end, though, Mason finally loosened his hold and stepped back.

Ryan immediately turned to Ava. “I want one too. Hug me.”

Ava simply smiled and, without hesitation, stepped forward and wrapped her arms around his waist. Ryan froze on the spot, completely stunned-he even forgot to breathe for a second.

Ava hugged me first? That means I’m different to her… different from the others in her heart.

If Ava had known what he was thinking, she would’ve definitely told him he was reading way too much

into it.

Mason glanced at the time and said calmly, “It’s getting late, Ryan. Let’s head out and let Ava rest.”

Ryan, still high off the unexpected hug, didn’t even argue when Mason urged him. Acting a bit like a kid, he suddenly cupped Ava’s face and pressed a quick kiss to her cheek.

“I’m leaving!”

The two of them made their way to the private garage in front of the villa. Ryan looked at Mason and said, “I’ve been away from Capitol Planet for quite a while, and you’ve barely made any progress with Ava at all.”

That comment was practically asking for a fight.

But Mason was in too good a mood to care. He opened the car door and tossed back a single word. “You’re inmature.”

Inside Mason’s car, upbeat music filled the space. A faint smile kept tugging at his lips, impossible to hide.

Ava no longer rejected him. It meant he didn’t have to keep burying the fact that he suffered from skin hunger anymore.

One thought kept repeating in his mind, Babe, come closer.

Meanwhile, when Ryan got back, he first checked on the kitten they were raising together. Since it was still adjusting, he didn’t disturb it.

After that, he returned to his room, pulled out several sets of clothes from the closet, and began preparing to move them closer to where Ava was staying-quietly marking his territory in his own way.

None of them had officially moved in yet, but that was only a matter of time.

Ava wasn’t avoiding their closeness like before. In his mind, she had probably already moved past whatever had happened in her heart.

She hadn’t gotten angry when he kissed her earlier, either.

So maybe next time, he could be a little braver.

On Sunday, Ava cleared her schedule and decided to spend the day alone.

She went to the city’s largest library, gathered a stack of reference books, and spent the morning quietly working through her assignments.
