Chapter 48 The Plan Unfolds
Sharon hid behind him and recorded for nearly two minutes.
She put her phone away and looked at him.
“My story is pretty messy. I’ll tell you everything later.”
“Alright. I’d love to hear it,” the man said with a light smile.
He lifted her in his arms again.
A breeze drifted through the door.
The man naturally draped his coat over her to shield her face.
“You shouldn’t catch a cold after what you’ve been through. Try not to go out too much.”
Sharon’s heart skipped a beat.
She had been neglected by Gary for so long.
A single gentle gesture from this stranger warmed her heart.
The man took her to pick up her medicine, then carried her back to the car.
He gently settled her into the back seat and covered her with his coat.
His thoughtfulness and perfect boundaries were incredibly charming.
A man like him should never lack company.
So why did he have to accept an arranged marriage?
Sharon couldn’t help but wonder.
She was about to ask when Sophia called.
“Sharon, where are you? I’ve been waiting at Amañ Café forever.”
“Oh, almost there. On my way.”
As soon as she spoke, the driver pulled up in front of the café.
“Go rest early after you meet your friend,” the man said politely, opening the door.

“And you shouldn’t drink coffee, not in your condition.”
They had just met, yet he cared for her like an old friend.
Sharon nodded and let him help her out.
She smiled and waved.
“Bye… friend.”
“Bye… friend.”
Sharon pushed open the café door.
Sophia had been waiting for a long time.
She rushed over and hugged her tightly.
“Sharon! Where were you? You’re forty minutes late!
“Who was that man who dropped you off? I’ve never seen him before. Spill!”
Sharon smiled. “I had a little car trouble. A nice guy gave me a ride.”
Sophia’s eyes lit up.
“Nice guys who drive Bentleys are pretty rare. You might’ve got lucky again.”
“Stop talking nonsense.” Sharon laughed, pushing her gently.
“No such luck.”
Sophia pulled her down and held her hand worriedly.
“Why are your lips so pale? Does your stomach still hurt badly?”
“Yeah, it hurts,” Sharon said, pressing a hand to her abdomen and wincing slightly.
Sophia shot to her feet.
“I can’t take this anymore! I’m calling Gary over right now to apologize! Does he even know what you’ve been through? Does he care at all? He’s terrible!”
Tears filled her eyes as she grabbed her phone to call him.
Sharon quickly held her hand down and shook her head.

“Sophia, it’s not worth it. None of this matters anymore.”
Sophia stared at her in disbelief.
“You’re just going to stay quiet? That’s not like you!”
“I’m not staying quiet,” Sharon said, her tone suddenly cold.
“Losing your temper is the weakest way to get revenge.”
Sophia took a deep breath and sat back down.
“You have a better plan?”
Sharon picked up her orange juice and took a small sip.
“In two days, the Colbert family is throwing a big party to officially welcome Mia.”
Sophia exploded in anger.
“What?! Is Gary even human? You’re hurting like this, and he’s throwing a party to rub it in? What about his parents? Do they agree too? I told you the whole Colbert family was bad news! You wouldn’t listen!”
Sharon stayed completely calm.
She picked up a spoon and took a bite of tiramisu.
Sophia was stunned.
