Chapter 49 His Panicked Eyes
“Exactly! And he acted like such a devoted husband, making everyone think he loved you!”
Sharon sneered. Love? Please.
“All his friends and employees these five years knew about him and Chloe. They all helped cover it up.”
“What?!” Sophia gasped, staring at her sharply.
“What about his parents? Was their kindness real or fake?”
Her voice tightened.
“Don’t tell me his parents were in on this too.”
Sharon nodded.
“I waited a month, and today I finally saw their true colors. All their affection these five years was fake.
“They’ve known Mia was Gary’s daughter the whole time. They just used me to handle loans, legal risks, and all the daily troubles. But I’m not the one on his marriage license. None of his wealth belongs to me. They even took away my chance to have children.”
“That man is evil. He destroyed you from the inside out. Sharon, you have to leave him now!”
Sophia’s voice trembled with fear.
Sharon squeezed Sophia’s hand.
“If I just walk away… isn’t that too easy for him?”
Sophia’s eyes turned sharp.
“Then what are you planning? Tell me, I’ll help you with anything.”
Sharon lifted her gaze and took another sip of juice.
“Do you know what the cruelest ancient punishment was?”
Sophia frowned, confused.
“What?”
Chapter 49 His Panicked Eyes
“Slow slicing,” Sharon said, her eyes icy cold.
“The executioner cuts the flesh little by little, avoiding vital areas. He breaks the victim’s min before finally killing them.”
Sophia shivered.
“That’s terrifying. If you’re going to tear Gary apart, I’ll be the one holding the knife.”
Sharon smiled bitterly.
“Everything Gary and Chloe did was a slow slice to my heart.”
Her voice turned sharp.
“And I’m going to pay them back… the exact same way.”
Sophia was even more confused.
“You’re not going to end it quickly? What exactly are you going to do?”
Sharon took out her phone and sent the video she just recorded to Sophia.
“I need a favor. Send this to your media friends. Let it spread.”
Sophia watched the video and jumped up in shock.
“They’re that brazen? You filmed this? And you held back?”
Sharon smiled faintly.
“No. That’s why I want you to expose them. Make it as big as possible.”
Sophia understood at once and patted her chest.
“Consider it done!”
By the time Sharon and Sophia finished coffee and headed home, it was almost five in the afternoon.
Gary called her personally.
“Baby, where are you? Do you want me to pick you up?”
Sharon had no car, so she replied calmly. “I’m at Aman Cafe. Come get me.”

Finis
Less than twenty minutes later, Gary pulled up outside the café.
Sophia had already left, unwilling to see Gary.
When Sharon got into the car, she subconsciously rubbed her waist.
Sitting too long, still weak from her loss, her back ached.
Gary saw her and reached out to press her waist gently.
“Baby, I know a great wellness clinic. It’s still early. Let me take you there for some medicine.”
Sharon was almost amused.
He had taken Chloe there earlier, and now he was offering to take her.
She smiled lightly.
“Healing Heart Clinic? I already went this afternoon. I picked up my medicine already. I just need to stop by and get it on the way.”
Gary froze completely. His voice wavered, and his eyes shifted uneasily.
“Sharon… you said you went there this afternoon? When?”
Sharon stared straight at him, playing innocent.
“Right after I left home. Why?”
Gary’s pupils shrank. He panicked.
“W-was it crowded? Did… did you see anything?”
