Shadron shifted in the passenger seat, the leather creaking under the sudden movement of his frame. He turned his upper body toward the driver’s side, his eyes wide with disbelief and rising panic as he stared at Dorrent’s cold profile. The headlights of the car sliced through the outer-sector darkness, illuminating the long, winding road that led up to the gates of the Grefo territory.
"Be serious for once in your life, Dorrent, and stop talking about such serious matters in that casual, unhinged tone!" Shadron snapped, his voice sharp and tight with anxiety. "We are talking about an absolute, irreversible biological binding. You cannot just throw around sentences like that while driving a car at ninety miles an hour!"
Dorrent didn’t even blink. His hands remained locked at the ten-and-two position on the steering wheel, his knuckles white under the faint dashboard glow. The muscles along his jawline bunched and rippled like coiled steel as he stared straight ahead into the unfolding night.
"I am not joking with you for a single second, Shadron," Dorrent delivered flatly, his deep voice dropping into a menacing, ice-cold register. "My mind is entirely made up. The exact moment that girl recovers enough to sustain the pressure, I will do exactly that. I will force her down, bury my fangs into her scent gland, and tear her throat open until my venom locks her system down forever."
Shadron let out a sharp, breathy gasp, his hands flying up in a universal gesture of frustration. He looked back at the pale, shivering figure of Jannah wrapped in the wool coat on the backseat, then looked back at the ruthless billionaire tycoon beside him.
"That is absolutely not a logical alternative, Dorrent!" Shadron hissed, his tone rising into an intense, desperate whisper to keep his voice from carrying to the rear. "Think about the structural framework of that connection! If you do not plan on legally marrying her in the future, marking Jannah like a wild animal will only make her completely bound to your soul for life. The biological consequence is absolute, brother. She will never, ever be able to have sex with another man or find relief with anyone else without her collapsing from pain. And more importantly—your own primitive Alpha framework will be permanently locked. You will also completely lose the ability to sleep with any other woman on this earth!"
"And that is exactly what I want, Shadron," Dorrent countered instantly, a dark, arrogant smirk curling the corners of his lips as his silver eyes flashed with fire. He pressed his foot harder onto the accelerator, the engine let out a growl that vibrated through the floorboards. "I want her to never, ever be able to have sex with anyone else for the rest of her miserable life. I want her completely ruined for the market. I want that Boren doctor, and every other dominant Alpha who looks at her in that way, to know that if they even dare to touch her skin, they will be stepping into my marked territory."
