Chapter 333
Monday morning, just as Ashley arrived downstairs at the company, she ran right into Gabriel, who was also coming to work.
Gabriel smiled: “Morning.”
Ashley: “Morning.”
No sooner had she spoken than Ashley saw Matt.
Seeing him, Ashley paused slightly.
Gabriel also saw Matt and frowned unhappily.
Matt didn’t pay much attention to Gabriel, walking straight towards Ashley:”I just got home early yesterday morning. We haven’t seen each other in a while, so I wanted to come and see you.”
Matt really just wanted to come and see her; he had no other intentions.
His attitude was clear, not wanting to bring her too much trouble, nor wanting her to be annoyed with him. He added: “You’re busy, don’t mind me, I’ll leave in a bit.”
Ashley really had said everything she could say to Matt.
For him to suddenly appear like this, she truly was somewhat speechless.
Hearing him say that, Ashley didn’t act overly polite either, nodded, and turned to go upstairs.
After Gabriel glanced at Matt, he followed Ashley.
Matt watched her retreating back, and after a while, he turned around and returned to the car.
Inside the car, there was a bouquet of flowers.
He had originally intended to give them to Ashley, but given the current situation, if he really brought them out, she would probably find him annoying the next time she saw him, and even want to avoid him.
Thinking of this, Matt smiled helplessly.
Gabriel pressed the elevator button and entered the elevator with Ashley.
Seeing Gabriel looking at her without speaking, Ashley looked up:”What’s wrong?”
Gabriel shook his head:”Nothing.”
After he finished speaking, he couldn’t help but say again:”Does that Mr. Adler often ask you to meet?”
‘No.’
Gabriel’s job had special circumstances, and he didn’t have many holidays, so even if he wanted to ask her out, he didn’t have the time.
Ashley’s attitude of refusal towards Matt just now was quite obvious, and he actually felt relieved.
However, he was also worried that if Matt’s offensive was fierce, Ashley wouldn’t be able to hold out and would be won over by him.
Thinking of this, he suddenly remembered Zark.
He had known that Zark also liked Ashley before.
It’s just that Zark hadn’t appeared for a long time, and even, like him, Zark didn’t seem to have truly pursued Ashley.
Why was that?
Did he give up?
Thinking of this, Gabriel looked at Ashley, hesitated, and then asked:”I’m a little curious…”
“About what?”
Gabriel said:”Matt’s conditions are pretty good, but you don’t seem to be considering him, why is that?”
Matt’s conditions are indeed quite good. Ashley doesn’t even consider someone with such good conditions. Is it because there’s something about Matt that she dislikes, or is it….
When he asked this, he was actually trying to probe into the issues she was concerned about.
In the future, he could avoid them, to prevent making mistakes.
In Ashley’s eyes, Gabriel wasn’t a gossipy person. It was his first time asking her such private questions, and Ashley didn’t feel repulsed, so she said directly: “I haven’t officially divorced yet, how can I consider him? What’s more, I’m certain I don’t have that intention towards Mr. Adler.”
In Gabriel’s mind, he thought she had already divorced.
Now hearing her say that, Gabriel was stunned:”You… you haven’t officially divorced yet?”
Ashley:”Mm.”
At this moment, the elevator also arrived.
Ashley exited the elevator and went back to her office to get busy.
Gabriel’s mind, however, went blank for two seconds.
Watching Ashley’s receding figure, he suddenly thought of something.
Could it be that Zark didn’t actively pursue Ashley because he knew she hadn’t officially divorced yet, rather than giving up?
Or perhaps, Zark knows Ashley’s… husband?
