Chapter 121
Was it just because of those few words she said to Madeleine?
Nanette clenched her fists.
She had worked so hard for so long and was so close to
succeeding. It was all because of that bitch, Madeleine.
“Just you wait, Madeleine. I’m going to make you see with your
own eyes what a failure you are as a mother.”
Taking a deep breath, Nanette took out her phone and opened
an encrypted folder. Inside were photos of Roderick’s family of
three that she’d had someone secretly take recently.
Roderick’s presence was too intimidating. The person taking
the photos didn’t dare get close, so they could only capture his
profile from a distance.
A tall figure, a sharp–featured profile, and an aura of mature
male charm in his every move.
Nanette looked at it, the corners of her lips curling up.
Only she was worthy of such a perfect man.

She opened another folder, and her smile vanished. It was all
information on Madeleine–her daily schedule, her social circle.
In the most recent photo, Madeleine was holding Kevin’s hand
while shopping at a mall, her smile radiant.
“Go ahead and smile, while you still can.”
After closing the folder, Nanette straightened her hair and
clothes, getting ready for a meeting.
She stood up and glanced at the screen again; Kevin was sitting
all alone on the monitor, completely out of place with the lively
surroundings.
Nanette sneered.
She knew this child all too well–sensitive, introverted, and
insecure. All it took was a little psychological suggestion and
some medication to have him completely under her control.
“My dear boy, you’re my ticket into the Livingston family. This
time, I’ll make sure you can never leave me.”
“As for that self–righteous mother of yours?
Heh, I’ll make her watch with her own eyes as her own child falls
right into my arms!”

Barely able to hide her triumphant expression, Nanette felt
great as she stood up and walked toward the door.
The moment she pulled the door open, the smile on Nanette’s
face froze.
Before she could even process why this woman was in front of
her office, her hand had already shot out.
Without a word, Madeleine grabbed Nanette’s hair with her left
hand and yanked it down hard.
Her right hand wasn’t idle, either, landing two quick slaps
across her face.
Nanette felt a sharp pain in her scalp as the world spun before
her eyes, and before she could even react, her face was already
stinging from two slaps.
“Aah!”
Nanette screamed, instinctively recoiling to grab at Madeleine’s
hand, and looked up in terror into Madeleine’s eyes.
Eyes burning with fury
“You, you’re crazy!
Chapter 121
What are you doing? Let go, now!”
“What am I doing?”
Madeleine sneered, not loosening her grip on the hair.
She looked slender, but because of dancing and working out,
she was all muscle, and she was way stronger than your
average girl.
Right now, she was only using about half her strength, and it
was already enough to nearly rip Nanette’s scalp off.
“I’m here to kick your ass!
You shameless bitch who hurt my son!”
Although Madeleine was occasionally mischievous as a child,
she had always been a good girl in her parents‘ eyes.
She was well–raised by Harold and Clarissa; at the very least,
she always followed the rules of not swearing and not fighting.
Unless she was pushed too far.
Yesterday, after talking with her son and learning that he had
indeed seen Nanette recently, she had a suspicion that the little
guy’s recent strange behavior might have something to do with

Nanette.
So she went back immediately, planning to tell Roderick her
suspicion.
Unexpectedly, Roderick told her he had already noticed
