Jason had been abroad for years. He was rumored to be a big
spender. He recently made trending topics for crashing a
limited–edition Ferrari while street racing and was urgently
called back by the old man to be “disciplined.”
Jason suddenly turned his head, his gaze sweeping over.
He had good features–deep–set eyes, a high–bridged nose–but
the corners of his eyes tilted up slightly, giving him a roguish,
devil–may–care air.
He had a smile on his lips now, but it didn’t reach his eyes.
“Which department are you from?”
He gestured toward Daniel with his chin.
“Hello, Jason. I’m the manager of the Sales Department. I was
just showing a client a property…”
As Daniel spoke, he subconsciously looked up at the lounge
area. It was separated by glass, offering a clear view of the
scene inside.
Chapter 177
Jason raised an eyebrow, his gaze passing over him to land on
Madeleine in the lounge.
She was dressed all in black, in clothes of no discernible brand,
probably not worth much. Very low–key.
She was looking down at her phone, her profile looking
especially soft in the light coming through the floor–to–ceiling
windows.
Jason suddenly smiled.
He casually tossed his car keys to his assistant, adjusted his
suit cuffs, and strode toward the lounge.
Madeleine, huh. If it isn’t an old acquaintance.
Madeleine heard footsteps approaching and thought it was
Daniel.
She looked up, and her expression froze when she saw who it
was.
Who’s this?
Did he just get back from promoting a song in Crotoronia?
Dressed so flashy.
Chapter 177
“Long time no see, Madeleine.”
The moment he spoke, Madeleine found him vaguely familiar.
After a moment’s hesitation, Madeleine frowned and asked,
“Are you… Jason?”
A sarcastic smile played on Jason’s lips.
“I’m surprised you still remember me, Madeleine.”
Madeleine rolled her eyes to the heavens. “Remember? Of course, I remember. I almost slapped your face crooked. How
could I forget?”
Jason’s expression faltered, his memory pulled back ten years.
That year, Jason was in high school in Australia and came back
for summer vacation. His dad took him on a visit to the Mosley
family.
Back then, The Klein Family and the Mosley family worked
closely together, and the two families were on pretty good
terms.
But Jason was a punk. Used to fooling around abroad, he didn’t
know how to behave back home and actually tried to hit on
Chapter 177
Madeleine.
Could Madeleine tolerate that?
Seeing him coming over to touch her like a sleazeball, she spun
around and slapped him.
“I still remember that slap.”
Jason sneered, flexing his wrist.
“Didn’t your family go bankrupt? You’re here to rent an office?
You got the money for that?”
Madeleine couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
“Looks like that slap didn’t teach you enough of a lesson. Want
another one?”
“Madeleine!”
Jason’s eyes widened, and he pointed at Madeleine’s nose and
started yelling, “Let me tell you, you’re not some rich heiress
anymore. Know your place.”
Madeleine scoffed and slapped his finger away.
“Jason, ten years have passed, and you still haven’t grown up.
Chapter 177
Besides bullying people with your family’s power, what else can
you do?”
Jason’s face turned livid with anger. Just as he was about to
explode, a soft cough came from behind him.
Daniel was standing at the door, a professional smile on his
face.
“Jason? Madeleine? Do you two know each other?”
Jason snorted. “Know each other? Of course, we do.
Madeleine here was quite the big shot back in the day.”
Madeleine couldn’t be bothered with him and turned to Daniel.
“Daniel, is the contract ready? If there are no problems, we can
sign it now.”
