Chapter 251
She didn’t look over. Simon was saying something to her, and Charlotte had her head lowered, leaning in to listen.
She looked incredibly gentle.
But that gentleness wasn’t for him.
Bradley’s heart tightened. He picked up his glass, swiftly linked
arms with Isabella, and they both tilted their heads back and
downed their drinks.
From Madeleine’s angle, she could clearly see the look on
Bradley’s face after he put his arm around Isabella.
Her heart sank.
I really backed the wrong horse… There was absolutely no
romantic chemistry between them.
To make matters worse, Rebecca leaned in close to her ear,
gloating.
“Get your wallet ready, Madeleine.”
Chapter 251
Madeleine sighed.
Is there anything more painful than shipping the wrong couple?
As she was thinking, Madeleine unconsciously glanced at
Charlotte and Simon again.
If Bradley and Isabella weren’t a real thing, then his feelings for
Charlotte… But Charlotte has a boyfriend.
How was this supposed to work out?
Bradley was their good friend, after all. She couldn’t just stand
by and watch him become the other man.
No way. When she got the chance, she had to talk to Roderick
and they would talk some sense into him.
While Madeleine was lost in her thoughts, the second round
had already begun.
It was Roderick’s turn for the second round, and he calmly
chose “Truth.”
Bradley, who had been simmering with anger, now found an
outlet.
“Truth, is it? Then answer this… have you ever regretted

marrying Madeleine!”
The moment he said that, all eyes snapped to Roderick.
They had all heard rumors about Madeleine’s past few years.
But it was hard to tell what was true. Seeing how strong their
relationship seemed now, no one believed those old stories
were real.
This question, however, brought it all back.
If the rumors were true, it would be understandable for
Roderick to have regrets.
“Regret?”
Roderick repeated the question, his brow furrowing slightly.
Beside him, Madeleine suddenly felt nervous, not daring to look
at Roderick’s face.
Well… if he said he regretted it, she could understand.
But he said firmly, “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
He clicked his tongue, his gaze sweeping across the room.
Chapter 251
“There’s no explaining it to you unmarried folks. After all, you’ve
never taken vows, so you don’t know what it feels like to
commit to one person through sickness and health, for richer or
poorer.”
He chuckled, a hint of smugness in his raised eyebrow.
“Only I know.“”
The room went quiet for a moment. Clearly, everyone was still
processing what Roderick had just said.
The certainty and almost show–off satisfaction in his words
were like a stone tossed into a calm lake, sending out ripples.
Madeleine whipped her head around and met Roderick’s deep
gaze.
There wasn’t a hint of hesitation or reluctance in them, only a
raw sincerity, a tenderness and pride so overwhelming it could
drown a person.
She felt as if her heart had just been slammed into.
It ached and swelled, yet felt completely full, and her eyes
instantly grew hot.
Chapter 251
“Fuck.”
Bradley was choked speechless, and it took him a while to
grumble, “I asked you to answer a question, not to start with the
public display of affection.”
Beside him, Isabella pushed his arm, telling him he was ruining
the mood.
“It’s so sweet. The dream of a love that lasts a lifetime–that’s
what so many girls wish for. Can you not ruin the atmosphere
here?”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m ruining the atmosphere.”
Bradley shrugged helplessly.
Rebecca also smiled and nudged Madeleine’s arm, whispering,
“I can vouch for him. Even during those two years you gave
Roderick the hardest time, he never once said he regretted
marrying you.”
