Chapter 279
The best love isn’t sacrifice, but rather, lighting each other’s way
and growing together like this.
She felt extremely happy, and holding Kevin, she gave the little
guy’s cheeks a good kiss.
“My sweet boy, why does Mommy love you so much? How
about Mommy sleeps with you tonight?”
“Really!”
The little one’s eyes lit up, but then his brow quickly furrowed.
“But every time Mommy says she’ll sleep with me, you’re not
here in the morning. Does Mommy leave after I fall asleep?”
Madeleine’s lips twitched in an awkward smile as she walked
while holding the little one.
Of course, she couldn’t just say it was all that guy Roderick’s
fault.
He always waited until the little guy was asleep to carry him
away. At first, his son thought it was the end of the world,

whimpering and asking if he had been sleepwalking.
Madeleine didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
“Don’t worry, Kev. Mommy promises I’ll sleep with you in your
room tonight, okay?”
Roderick, who had just finished working in the study and came downstairs because he knew Madeleine was back, happened to
overhear her.
He felt like his world was about to collapse.
His wife was going to sleep with their son. What about him?
Madeleine had been too tired lately, so he couldn’t bring himself
to wear her out at night.
Her training was finally shorter today. It was one thing for Rebecca to take up their dinner time, but now the little guy was going to steal his chance to sleep with her as well.
There was no way that was happening.
Roderick’s eyes narrowed as he remembered what Bradley had
given him a couple of days ago.
He turned and went back to the room.
Chapter 279
The “secret weapon” Bradley had given him was an adult
version of the Ludo board game, supposedly a great way for
couples to improve their relationship and relive their
honeymoon phase.
At the time, he had scoffed at it, thinking Bradley was always
coming up with such ridiculous things.
He and Madeleine were doing great, did they really need this
stuff?
Now… hmm, maybe it was worth a shot.
There was no doubt their relationship was great.
But who said life couldn’t use a little something to spice it up?
Madeleine finally managed to coax the excited Kevin to sleep.
Even asleep, the little guy’s lips were curled into a smile, his
small hand unconsciously clutching a corner of her pajamas.
Looking at her son’s peaceful sleeping face, her heart melted. She gently kissed his forehead and was about to lie down when
there were two soft knocks on the door, and it was pushed
open a crack.
Chapter 279
Roderick leaned in, gesturing for her to come out, a rare, almost
pleading look in his eyes.
Afraid of waking her son, Madeleine got up quietly, followed
him out of the children’s room, and whispered:
“What’s wrong?
Didn’t we agree I’d be sleeping with Kev tonight?”
Without another word, Roderick wrapped his arm around her
waist and led her toward the master bedroom, his voice low and
magnetically seductive:
“I’m not stopping you, I just found something fun. I want you to
play one round with me first. Just one round. I’ll let you go back
to sleep right after, I promise not to wake him.”
“What is it that has to be played right now?”
Madeleine was a little exasperated, but also curious, and let
him half–pull, half–guide her into the master bedroom.
As soon as she walked in, she noticed something was different.
Only a few warm, yellow wall sconces were on, casting a dim,
intimate glow.
Chapter 279
The air was filled with a sweet, alluring fruity scent mixed with a
faint floral and woody aroma–a relaxing aromatherapy blend.
