Chapter 294
Gossip, gossip, gossip!
Here comes the gossip
“What’s going on?
Is it good or bad?”
“Hmm…”
Roderick was silent for a moment, then glanced at Bradley.
“It should be good, but right now it’s pretty bad.”
Madeleine was completely confused, muttering that Roderick
had to tell her every single detail when he got back.
“By the way, what did you call for?”
“Oh, right, I almost forgot. Kevin and Mina came to see me. I
was calling to ask if you’re coming back for dinner tonight. I
want to treat Leona to a meal.”
Roderick frowned slightly. “Leona?”
Chapter 294
He was still a little wary. He hadn’t been comfortable with Madeleine dancing with Leona all this time.
The reason he didn’t stop her back then was, for one, he could
see that Madeleine really wanted to dance.
And for another, he had looked into Leona.
There was nothing particularly special. After graduating high school, Leona went to a dance school abroad to further her ballet studies and had won quite a few awards over the years.
She just expressed regret in public on several occasions, saying she had a rival from her memory that she never got to properly compete against again.
That rival was probably Madeleine.
“I probably can’t make it back.”
After all, I still have to keep an eye on this Bradley guy.
“Oh, I see. Then we’ll eat out. Remember to eat, okay? I’ve
already bribed Gerry. If you don’t eat, he’ll tell me.”
“Okay.”
Roderick couldn’t help but smile, feeling all warm inside.
Chapter 294
Yeah, being cared for by his wife felt really nice.
After hanging up, Roderick finally got up and walked toward
Bradley, the smile gone from his face.
Bradley was still clutching a throw pillow and wailing.
“Do you have any idea how much willpower it took for me to
leave?”
“Roderick, ahhh! Do you think I shouldn’t have left? I think the
way Charlotte looked back then, she really wanted to apologize
to me.”
“No, I can’t go soft, ahhh! I was just trying to force her hand.”
“But I couldn’t bear it. She must have cried.”
He kept rambling on, repeating the same things over and over
ever since he walked in.
Roderick’s ears were about to fall off from hearing it.
“Be quiet.”
Roderick sat down, annoyed.
Chapter 294
This office might be soundproof, but it couldn’t handle Bradley’s
wailing.
If someone passed by outside and heard the nojse, who knows
what they’d guess was happening inside.
“Roderick, I think I’m hopeless.”
Bradley lay on the sofa, staring up at the ceiling.
Roderick nodded. “You are. Need me to call a doctor for you?
Oh, you are one, so no need. Then I’ll arrange for your
cremation.”
Bradley’s mouth twitched. He sat up from the sofa and glared
at him.
“How can you have zero sense of humor? You take things so
literally.”
Do I?
Roderick raised an eyebrow.
He was pretty humorous when he was with his little Madeleine,
often making her giggle.
Chapter 294
He just wasn’t interested in being humorous with Bradley.
Roderick made a cup of cooling tea and handed it to the
miserable–looking Bradley.
“Drink some. Cool down.”
“Cool down? Do I need to cool down right now? I need to be
defused!
I’m about to explode.”
Despite saying that, he still took the cup, blew on it irritably, and winced from the heat without taking a sip before putting it down again.
He ran a hand through his hair in frustration.
“I never thought Charlotte was such a conflicted person. I can totally feel that she has feelings for me, Roderick. Why do you
think that is?”
He had tried everything.
