Chapter 61
This is bad.
Madeleine’s eyes widened. What if it hits us?
Seeing the bumper car was about to hit Kevin, Madeleine
quickly scooped the little guy back up into her arms.
But she couldn’t dodge in time, and the bumper car slammed
hard into her shin.
“Ah!”
Madeleine stumbled back a couple of steps and was only kept
from falling because someone caught her.
“Mom!”
Kevin’s face went pale with fright. He clung tightly to
Madeleine’s neck, his eyes instantly turning red.
The woman gave a triumphant sneer, pulled her son out of the
car, walked over to Madeleine, and scoffed, “Serves you right.
That’s what you get for bullying my son.”
Chapter 61
The amusement park staff quickly came over to handle the
situation.
After all, hitting someone with a bumper car after the ride was
over was a pretty serious matter. It would be bad if the injured guest decided to press charges.
“Ma’am, are you alright? Do you need us to take you to the
hospital?”
Madeleine shook her head.
In her arms, Kevin now noticed the chubby little boy. A flash of
panic crossed his eyes as he whispered, “Austin Eleanor
Hayes.”
“What?”
Madeleine heard her son and turned to follow his gaze.
Kev and that chubby kid know each other?
The park employee also noticed something was up. It looked
like there was bad blood between the two families, and their
policy was to separate guests to prevent arguments.
Seeing the mother and son about to leave, Madeleine wasn’t

having it.
You think you can just hit someone and walk away?
That’s not how it works!
She put her son down, took a few long strides forward, and
grabbed the mother and son.
“Stop right there.”
Madeleine’s face was dark, her eyes cold.
Dannie Eleanor was amused by the situation. This little siren
had some nerve. She didn’t cower, but actually dared to
challenge her.
She really thinks she can do whatever she wants just because
she’s latched onto the boss, huh.
“Fine, I’ll stand right here. Let’s see what you can do to me.”
Dannie snorted. She was sure the woman in front of her
wouldn’t dare make a big scene.
After all, what kind of trouble could a secret mistress possibly
stir up?
Chapter 61
“Apologize to my son.”
“Your son!
?”
Dannie froze for a second, then burst out laughing as if she’d
just heard the funniest joke.
The onlookers who had gathered were now looking on
curiously, not understanding what was so funny.
“Son.”
Dannie bent down to pick up her son, but the big, chubby boy
was just too heavy. She struggled for a moment before giving
She bent down and asked, “You just said you’re his classmate,
right?”
“Yeah.”
“Have you ever seen his mom?”
The chubby kid raised his eyebrows and said irritably in a louder
voice, “He doesn’t even have a mom. All the kids in our class
know. He’s just a wild child, popped out of a rock.”
Chapter 61
“You’re lying!”
Kevin, who had been lost in the pain of his mother being hurt, immediately flushed red when he heard this.
He rushed over to bravely argue back, tears welling up in his
eyes, his body trembling slightly.
“I’m not lying. None of the kids in our class have ever seen your
mom. She never came to sports day or parent–teacher conferences. You don’t have a mom, nyah nyah nyah.”
Dannie smugly patted her son’s chubby face, sneered at
Madeleine, and then shifted her gaze to the gossiping crowd
that had gathered.
“Did everyone get a good look? I don’t need to spell out what
kind of woman this is, do I? A woman with no manners, no
values, and no shame, and she still dares to strut around a
place like this.”
She glared irritably at the amusement park staff.
“I’d say you’re not doing your job. How could you let someone
like her in!”
