Elise opened her eyes, her voice trembling violently. "Madeline... my child is alive..."

Madeline frowned, looking at her in confusion. "What child? Elise, please calm down first and tell me what happened, okay?"

Sobbing uncontrollably, Elise handed the DNA report in her arms to Madeline.

Madeline took it and looked down to read it. A moment later, her eyes widened in complete disbelief.

She snapped her head up to look at Elise. "Elise... is... is this real?"

Her face drenched in tears, Elise nodded with all her strength.

"Oh my God..." Madeline’s eyes welled up with tears, and she began to cry as well. "Am I dreaming? Elise, slap me! Oh god, this feels so unreal..."

"Madeline, I’m terrified this is a dream too..." Elise’s voice shook violently. "If it’s a dream, I never want to wake up from it..."

Madeline immediately pinched her own thigh hard, crying out even louder. "It’s not a dream! It’s really not a dream!" She wrapped her arms tightly around Elise. "Elise, we’re not dreaming—this is real! The test report is real! This is—"

Her voice cut off abruptly.

Madeline pulled back, wiping the tears from her face with the back of her hand. "Wait, something’s not right. Who gave you this test report?"

"Dylan..." Elise choked out. "He had Oliver bring it to me."

"He gave it to you?" Madeline knitted her brows. "Is it reliable?"

Elise froze.

Madeline looked down, examining the test report meticulously. "This testing institution is under the Everett family’s empire in the Capital. As far as I know, the eldest heir of the Everett family is close friends with Dylan."

The moment the words left her mouth, Elise immediately understood her point. She frowned slightly. "You think Dylan would forge this?"

"I’m not necessarily saying that..." Madeline’s expression was conflicted. "I just feel... He has been dragging his feet and refusing to divorce you all this time, and now Robin turns out not to be Fleur’s child after all. I’m just afraid he might be using Robin to... deceive you..."

Madeline forced those last few words out through gritted teeth.

Elise stared blankly at her friend in shock.

Seeing her reaction, Madeline quickly added, "Elise, I’m just making a hypothesis. Dylan surely wouldn’t lie to you about something this serious, right? I just feel... if Robin really is your child, why would Dylan keep it from you all this time?"
