Olivia’s pupils constricted, her gaze fixed on the words “harboring a wanted fugitive” in bold print on the warrant. It felt as if an invisible ice pick had pierced her heart, and her limbs instantly grew cold and numb.

“Please cooperate with us and come with us now.”

“Then tell me, how could a fugitive like him, without your help, go anywhere or threaten you with anything”

The officer narrowed his eyes at Olivia.“Or is it that you did something that he caught you on?”

“I didn’t!”

Olivia retorted, “I didn’t do anything…”

“Then what did he threaten you with?!”

The officer slammed his hand on the table, the loud bang making Olivia jump.

“My… my father passed away, and my older brother is the only one holding the Bennett Group together now…”

Olivia lowered her gaze.“He threatened me that if I didn’t help him, he would ruin the Bennett Group, so I…”

“You think I’ll believe that?”

The officer scoffed.

Just then, Clara’s phone rang. It was Victor calling.

She answered, and Victor’s anxious, weary voice came through the speaker.

“Clara, do you have a moment?”

Clara raised an eyebrow.“What’s up?”

Sensing the distance in Clara’s tone, Victor quickly explained, “Nothing much, it’s just that Dad specifically instructed before he left to leave you some shares.”

“The company needs to go through the equity transfer process now, and you need to be here in person to sign and confirm.”

Clara’s fingers tightened around her phone, her eyes filled with surprise.
