Chapter 111
“Meow Meow! The cat, suddenly without playmates, circled anxiously arend Daisy’s ankles, rubbing against her legs for attention.

“Get away!” Daisy suddenly kicked out with her pointed stiletto, striking the cat in its side. The animal let out a pained cry as it was thrown against the stone pavement.
Fury surged through me, but before I could even yell at Daisy, I noticed something alarming happening with Aria.
The little girl’s eyes were fixed on the injured cat. Her face had drained of all color, turning an almost translucent white. Large beads of sweat began rolling down her face as her breathing quickened.
“What’s happening here?”
Ridley’s commanding voice cut through the tension as he strode toward us. His icy gaze softened slightly at the sight of Aria, but immediately sharpened again when he noticed her distress.
Sweat was pouring down her face, her complexion ghostly pale. She looked like she might collapse at any moment.
“Albert, call the private physician and take Aria upstairs,” Ridley ordered.
His assistant quickly stepped forward, gently lifting the limp child into his arms before hurrying toward the Sterling Design Group building.
With Aria gone, Daisy seemed to grow bolder. She tilted her head up toward Ridley, her voice dripping with false concern.
“Ridley, she took Aria without permission. She can call it befriending Aria if she wants, but let’s call it what it is–attempted kidnapping! And when I arrived, I found her letting Aria pet that stray cat… You know how terrified Aria is of cats. This woman nearly caused a serious health crisis. You must do something about this.”
I clenched my fists, keeping my cool gaze locked on Daisy. The image of Aria’s near–collapse kept flashing through my mind, filling me with both guilt and anger.
‘Ms. Black, I won’t dignify your kidnapping accusations with a response,” I said, my voice carrying an edge I rarely used. “But I have to ask- why did Aria only start having that reaction after you arrived? You know perfectly well about her psychological condition, yet you kicked that cat half to death right in front of her. I have to wonder if you did that deliberately.”
I took a step closer, my voice lowering. “I’ve only met Aria twice, but it’s abundantly clear that what she feels toward you isn’t trust–it’s fear and anxiety. What have you been doing to make her so terrified?”
“You’re talking nonsense!” Daisy’s furious expression couldn’t quite mask her flicker of guilt.
She cut me off, “I’ve been caring for Aria since she was born. I’m the person she trusts and depends on most. How dare you make such accusations? What are you really after?”
As she finished speaking, she seemed to feel Ridley’s intense gaze on her. Looking up, she found him studying her with a scrutinizing expression.
Daisy visibly flinched. “Ridley, you don’t actually believe her, do you? Yes, sometimes Aria resists me, but that’s only because I maintain necessary discipline. Please believe me–I truly love Aria as if she were my own daughter. How could I ever do anything to harm her? As for the cat… I was just terrified she might have an allergic reaction and end up in the hospital. I overreacted…”
