## Chapter 17: Just Here for the Ceremony

Tomorrow was her wedding to Camren, and she’d seen the guest list–it was packed with prominent figures. from the city’s major families.

Her history with Ryan wasn’t exactly a secret. Britney had no idea what might go down at the wedding, or how Camren, who was practically perfect, would react when people started gossiping.

They’d only been married a little over a month, and Camren had been away for half that time.

“How come you’re still up?” Camren asked. He usually finished work and expected to find her asleep in bed, so it was a surprise to open the door and find the room empty.

about?”

“You want to divorce me?” Camren frowned, his eyes suddenly darkening.

They’d just gotten married. And here she was, the night before their wedding, wide awake in the middle of the night, staring at the moon and thinking about divorcing him?

“Just what?” Camren stared intently at Britney, and she immediately felt an intense pressure.
