Chapter 19. A New Auntie
The sheer, delicate veil couldn’t hide her face at all. This wasn’t Britney Simpson, it was Skylar Simpsont
Why? Why had his bride become Skylar Simpson?
Ryan Lewis stared intently at the person before him. Skylar bit her lip, but she didn’t stop walking. They could all hear the whispers and murmurs around them.
Ryan and Britney Simpson’s long–standing relationship was no secret. Even if the invitation hadn’t specified which Simpson daughter was the bride, everyone knew the score. But now, all of a sudden, the bride was
Skylar Simpson.
Ryan recalled the strange vibe at the Simpson residence yesterday. All the recent oddities were starting to
make sense.
He glanced at Jackson Simpson and Allison Payne. Their shifty eyes and awkward posture screamed one
thing:
The Simpson family was playing him!
Ryan was furious, a fire raging inside him. Just as he was about to blow up, Skylar rushed forward, grabbing
his arm. “Ryan.”
“Let go!” Ryan gritted his teeth, his eyes practically tearing Skylar apart.
Skylar flinched but bravely lowered her voice. “Ryan, just let me explain first.”
“We really tried to persuade my sister, but she absolutely refused to marry you. This morning, she just
vanished.”
Skylar’s eyes were red, her lips trembling slightly, and her watery gaze was full of injustice. “I watched your prepare for this wedding. I know how much effort you put in.”
“What would you do if the bride disappeared?”
“How could I stand by and let people point fingers at you? You’re Mr. Lewis!” Skylar’s hand, grasping Ryan’s,
felt a little cold.
“Even if, even if it’s because of my sister, I can’t let your reputation be trampled and become a laughing
stock.”
Shimmering tears, hidden by the gossamer veil, streamed down her delicate cheeks, landing perfectly on the back of Ryan’s hand.
“I know you love my sister. I don’t want anything else; I just want to go through with this wedding with you.”

“After the wedding, you can do whatever you want. Even if even if it means I leave you forever, I’m willing Skylar’s act of forced compliance was perfectly executed.
Ryan Lewis was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, always arrogant and imperious. In the entire elite circle, apart from that one Lewis, he was the target of everyone’s envy.
He would absolutely not allow anything to go wrong at his wedding
Ryan’s eyes fell on his dampened hand. Everything that had happened recently flashed through his mind. He arched an eyebrow. “You”
The main house, the main house is having a wedding! It’s it’s Camren Lewis’s wedding! Just then, some quest, smartphone in hand, suddenly exclaimed in surprise.
Everyone’s attention was drawn away. Camren Lewis! He was the kind of guy whose mere presence could shake the national economy.
Plus, he was notoriously aloof and kept his distance from people. In all the years he’d been in charge, any woman who tried to get into his bed had met a bad end, without exception.
No one had ever heard of him being close to any noble lady, so how could he suddenly be getting married?
Could it be an arranged marriage? Which powerful family, unknown to them, had the pull to make Camren
Lewis actually agree to one?
The guests present felt like they had springs in their seats and couldn’t sit still after hearing this news.
“Mr. Lewis, I just remembered, I have some stuff to do. I’m out.”
“My dog suddenly got sick, gotta go.”
“My great–aunt–in–law got into a car accident..
”
The endless excuses made Ryan’s face darken completely. So, the main house was so lively today because it
was holding a wedding?
Camren Lewis was getting married on the same day as him? How long had this been planned? Why was he completely in the dark?
So, Camren and those top–tier elite families weren’t here for him after all.
He suddenly remembered encountering Camren Lewis at the company once. He’d invited him to his wedding.
Camren’s reply was that he would definitely attend. but he had never specified it was Ryan Lewis’s wedding.
Camren had said… his own wedding?
But why would Camren Lewis do this?
Watching the guests thin out, Ryan said coldly, “Since it’s my uncle’s wedding, let’s all go take a look.”
1 can also pay my respects and offer a cup of tea to my new auntie ”
The bodyguards at the main house didn’t stop the quests from the distant section. Instead, they politely verified everyone’s identities before ushering them in.
More importantly, these quests had their own designated seats, as if everything had been prepared in advance, without any due to the unexpected turn of events.
Old Mr. Lewis, seated at the very front, was in high spirits, chatting with those who eagerly approached him. Camren, as usual, maintained his icy demeanor, his deep eyes scanning everyone present without a ripple of
emotion before calmly withdrawing his gaze.
Ryan wanted to go over and get some answers, but then he saw Camren’s eyes soften instantly, as if he’d
spotted something, and he quickly walked off to greet someone in the distance.
Following his gaze, Ryan was frozen in place, unable to move. His eyes were bloodshot as he stared unblinkingly at the bride, in her pure white gown, breathtakingly beautiful.
Her head was slightly bowed because of the wide skirt, and through the sheer veil, one could see her long. curled eyelashes fluttering. Her dewy eyes were focused on the hem of her dress, seemingly a little troubled. yet so beautiful that one couldn’t look away.
Camren stopped steadily in front of her. She looked up, and a radiant smile bloomed, as if everything around
them had lost its color.
She was the person Ryan knew so well, the one who should have been standing beside him today–Britney
Simpson!
Ryan clenched his fists tightly, his heart churning violently. Camren Lewis was marrying Britney Simpson!
No wonder Camren had suddenly radiated hostility that day. No wonder he hadn’t actually managed to contact Britney. No wonder she could abandon someone, at their wedding.
Ryan was trembling all over.
Britney hadn’t noticed Ryan. She tilted her head slightly, complaining with a touch of vexation, “My taste seems off. This wedding dress is beautiful, but it’s so inconvenient. I can’t walk.”
She lowered her voice, worried she might embarrass
she was pouting. His throat bobbed “It’s fine!“.
Camren. Her soft tone, to Camren’s ears, sounded like
“Huh?” Before Britney could understand what Camren meant, she felt her body lighten. When she came back. to her senses, she was already held steadily in Carren Lewis’s arms.
