Chapter 138
‘I’ll never get tired of watching you chase that spoiled dog!”
Billy stopped a little further away, wagging his tail like he knew exactly what he was doing.
Dante finally walked over, retrieved the sandal, and returned to me.
“He just wanted a little attention,” he says, slipping an arm around my waist.
We return to the water again.
With the soft breeze, his warm body against mine, and the soothing sound of the waves.
We sit on the sand once more, watching the calm sea in front of us. He wraps an arm around my shoulders, pulling me gently closer.
“How about a trip to celebrate our sixth anniversary that’s coming up?” he suggests with a
mischievous smile.
“Really?!” My eyes light up with excitement. “We could even invite Fox… or, better, Noah and
Thomas to join us.”
He laughs and nods at the idea.
I lean in to kiss him, but before our lips meet, Billy jumps on his back, knocking him face–first into
the sand.
I burst out laughing as he spits out sand and wipes his face.
“That spoiled mutt… Billy!” he grumbles, getting up quickly and chasing after him.
Billy dashes down the beach, making Dante run after him with a half–smile.
Watching the two of them play makes me smile even more.
Who would’ve thought I’d be married to a man someday… and that man would learn how to love?
At first, it was all obsession.
But deep down, it was love disguised as possessiveness.
Dante changed.
He learned.

Chapter 138
He grew.
He became an incredible man, an even better husband.
And I love him.
I love this life we built together.
I look at him getting tackled again by Billy, who starts licking his face mercilessly.
The sight makes me laugh like a fool completely in love.
I lift my face to the orange sky of dusk and take a deep breath.
I hope the universe hears me and grants my wish: that our love lasts forever.

“Crazy for you,” he whispers, with that look that makes my heart race.
