“You’re right, I don’t know anything. But I do have to ask: who exactly is it that you love? If it was Rafael, then you lost your shot at inheriting the empire. If it’s Finnian, then you just proved my point. Oh, wait, I get it. The only thing you truly love is The Sanders Family’s wealth and power.”
Noelle felt completely exposed, stripped raw under a glaring spotlight. Panic and terror seized her. She had come here to gloat, to intimidate Kaia into backing down. Instead, Kaia’s words acted like a scalpel, meticulously carving open all her deepest, darkest calculations for the world to see.
“Stop talking.” Noelle collapsed back onto the sofa as if her legs had given out, burying her face in her hands. “These are just your crazy assumptions.”
“Why should I stop? Weren’t you the one who called me a substitute? Weren’t you the one who claimed he never loved me? We’ve been married for seven years. We have a beautiful daughter together. I have the marriage certificate, and I am still the legal Mrs. Sanders. And you? What has he ever given you? The audacity to provoke me? Blind arrogance? You’ve just inflated your own importance in your head. In reality, he has given you absolutely nothing. So when you come to me and call me a substitute, I have to ask: what exactly did I replace?”
Tears of pure frustration spilled down Noelle’s cheeks. Her entire body trembled as she bit her lip so hard it turned white.
“Noelle, you didn’t lose to me. You lost to fate. And if you think you can pin your sins and failures on me, you’re dead wrong. This is between you and Finnian. I will not be dragged into your mess.” Kaia held her gaze firmly, a fiery determination in her eyes.
It was then that Noelle finally realized the truth: all her manipulative tactics, all her carefully crafted lies that had worked so flawlessly on the men in her life, were completely useless against Kaia. She didn’t even have a chance to defend herself.
Kaia picked up her teacup, turned, and walked out of the room. Noelle looked up, staring daggers at her retreating figure as the hatred in her eyes flared into a raging inferno.
Kaia was still acting like she was perched on some untouchable pedestal.
From the very first day they met, right up until this moment.
Shortly after Kaia left, Noelle attempted to stand, only to be struck by a violent, cramping pain in her abdomen. It was so intense she couldn’t even straighten her back. Panicking, she pulled out her phone to call Finnian–but then, she stopped herself.
Instead, she frantically called out to passing employees for help. Someone quickly dialed 911, and she was rushed to the hospital. In the back of the ambulance, she was paralyzed with fear, her hands clutching her stomach as she prayed desperately for the babies to
survive.

Chapter 485
Because Elaine was nearby, she arrived at the hospital just as Noelle was being wheeled into
the emergency room.
She stood in the sterile hallway, watching the heavy doors swing shut as the red “IN USE” light flickered on.
“Please, God. Please. Don’t let anything happen to those babies.”
“My poor Rafael. Please watch over them from heaven. Keep your babies safe.”
Elaine was fraught with anxiety, muttering continuous prayers. The corridor was quiet, allowing her to hear the faint, urgent beeping of monitors from inside the ER, accompanied by the rushed footsteps of nurses hurrying in and out.
Just then, Wendy came sprinting down the hall. Elaine immediately grabbed her arm. “Wendy, you work for Noelle. What happened to her? Is it because she resigned?”
Wendy’s expression was grim. Since Noelle had managed to secure her a promotion right before leaving, Wendy was staunchly loyal to her boss. “Mrs. Sanders, I’m not making this up. Right before Ms. Lawrence collapsed, Kaia cornered her for a chat. A lot of people saw it. She dragged Ms. Lawrence into a meeting room to talk.”
