When Love Finds Its Way Back (Cassienne and Dreston) novel Chapter 350

Chapter Three Hundred Fifty: Tina Has Woken Up

The atmosphere in Dreston Tremont’s private office was thick with tension. Late afternoon light filtered through the tall, floor to-ceiling windows, casting long shadows across the sleek mahogany desk and the scattered documents covering it.

Cassienne Rhodes sat comfortably on the soft leather sofa in the corner, slowly sipping from the fresh fruit juice Dreston had personally prepared for her earlier. The cool, sweet taste of mango and orange helped settle her nerves, but it did little to ease the heavy weight pressing on her chest as she watched her husband work.-

Dreston stood behind his desk, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, eyes sharp and focused as he and Steve reviewed the latest leads. Papers, photographs, and encrypted reports lay spread out before them. The quiet hura of the city far below the high-rise windows only emphasized how isolated and serious this moment felt.

“Have you contacted the investigators?” Dreston’s voice broke the silence.

“Not yet, but I’m on it already,” Steve replied efficiently, flipping through another file. “They’re on standby.”

Dreston nodded, his jaw tight. “With what we have, we don’t need to waste too much time. Let the investigators do their job”

Then Dreston’s expression became more serious. “And Steve.”

“Yes, sir?”

“I want additional private security around Aurora and Daisy, and I want round-the-clock coverage. I don’t want to take any chances with Tina either. Double the team if necessary.”

Steve immediately understood.

The situation was no longer limited to Cassienne.

If the people behind the attacks were becoming desperate, there was no telling who they might target next

Steve nodded once, crisp and professional. “I will get to it right away, sir.”

He gathered all the files into a neat stack, gave a final respectful nod, and left the office. The door closed softly behind him, leaving only the faint click of the latch.

Silence returned to the spacious room, thick and heavy. But Cassienne broke it before it could stretch too long. “DT, you also need to rest.”

Dreston’s face softened instantly. He turned toward his wife, and a slow, genuine smile painted his lips. The exhaustion from the past days was still etched into his features, but something warmer flickered in his eyes whenever he looked at her. He stepped closer and took a seat beside her on the sofa, his large frame making the leather dip slightly under his weight. “You know you only get to call me with that nickname when we’re at home,” he murmured, his voice dropping into that how intimate tone that always sent heat rushing through her. “Don’t make me lose contrei right here inside my office

Cassienne laughed. The sound surprised even her, light and genuine after so many days of tension. Yes, she hiked seeing hea like this playful, possessive, hungry. It had been too long slice they had been truly intimate. Work, stress, and the constant threats had kept them apart more than she wanted to admit

Dreston watched her fleshed face and realized she was intentionally trying to get a reaction from hum the harsi brushed, along her cheek, thumb tracing the curve of her jaw. “Tell me, dove,” he said softly, “do you miss my touch that th

Cassienne felt something loosen inside her stomach, warmth spreading through her body like liquid hosts. Pregitan ha already made her more sensitive, more needy, but the long hours of work had left her too tired most nights to seek bum out the way she truly wanted.

“What were you thinking?” Dreston’s voice broke through her thoughts apart, gentle but knowing

“What?” She sounded genuinely shocked “Nothing

And the funny part was that Dreston always knew when she was lying. “You know I can read you like a book, Cass.”

“Okay, you won,” she finally surrendered with a small, shy smile.

That somehow warmed him from the inside out. “I-” she stammered, cheeks growing hotter. “I think we should, you know, get to… to-”

Dreston laughed out loud, the deep, rich sound cutting her off and filling the office with unexpected joy. Then he leaned in closer, his fingers stroking her lips gently before he placed a soft kiss there. “Tonight,” he promised, voice rough with desire, get ready because none of us will get any sleep.”

Cassienne leaned into the kiss, her hands sliding up to rest against his chest. God, she had missed him so much-missed this closeness, this heat, this feeling of being completely wanted.

When Dreston pulled back slightly, his eyes had darkened with unmistakable hunger. “I have been thinking about us too,” he admitted, “but I didn’t want to put too much stress on you, especially with the pregnancy. But since you’re not working today, Cass… get ready for me tonight.”

He placed another kiss on her lips, and this time Cassienne wrapped her arms around his neck and deepened it. The kiss turned passionate, urgent, full of all the days they had spent apart. They didn’t care that they were in his office, that anyone could walk in. For those few heated moments, the world outside ceased to exist.

But then Dreston’s phone rang sharply on the desk, shattering the moment. He groaned into her mouth before reluctantly pulling away. “I’ll be back,” he said, voice husky. Cassienne giggled softly, cheeks flushed and eyes bright.

Dreston rose to his feet and strode over to his desk. He picked up the phone and saw Ray Simpson’s name on the screen. He answered immediately. “Ray?”

“Tina is awake.” Ray’s voice sounded urgent.

Dreston froze.

Cassienne stood up immediately as she noticed the sudden change in her husband’s entire demeanor.

“Dreston? Are you there?” Ray’s voice broke through again.

“Yes, I’m here. Did she say anything?”
