Chapter 376
“Is it open to the public?” Mia asked, her eyes lighting up with curiosity.
The butler shook his head. “No, it’s not open to the public.”
“That’s a pity,” Mia said, a hint of disappointment in her voice.
Aurelia tried to cheer her up. “If you really like it, I can ask around and see if it’s for sale.”
Mia was stunned.
‘I just wanted to take a look, not actually own the place!‘ Mia thought to herself.
‘But honestly, having a CEO bestie is seriously the best,’ she mused.

While Mia was busy collecting seashells, Aurelia took a look around and realized this spot gave her a perfect view of where the two islands seemed to kiss.
That’s actually pretty cool. No wonder they call it Kissing Island, Aurelia thought.
She found the perfect angle, snapped a couple of photos, and posted them on Instagram, feeling pretty good about it.
After having a blast, the two of them went back to the hotel.
Zane came back from fishing at sea, bringing loads of fresh seafood. He had the chef cook up a big seafood feast for
everyone.
Mia patted her stomach. “I had so much fun, but now I’ll have to pay for it with a painful diet later,” she said.
Zane looked at her, genuinely puzzled. “You’re not fat at all. Why bother dieting?”
Mia gave him a look. “I’m a model, remember? You have no idea how brutal the modeling world is.”
‘Brutal? Come on, tell me,” Zane pressed, never one to let a conversation drop.
With Zane around, Mia barely had time to feel down, which made things way more relaxed for Aurelia.
joey texted her, asking if she’d go with her to the competition the day after tomorrow.
Aurelia said, “Sure, I’d love to.”
She realized she’d been spending so much time with Mia lately that she hadn’t really hung out with Joey, and felt a bit bad
about it.
But since the competition was the day after tomorrow, it meant she’d have to start her return journey today.
Aurelia let Mia and Zane know about her plans.
Mia waved her off, “Go ahead, don’t worry about me! I’ll stick around and have some more fun, and when I’m done. I’ll com find you.”
Zane reassured her, saying he’d take the opportunity to check out the resort’s operations and keep an eye on Mia
“Alright, I’ll head back then,” Aurelia said, wasting no time. She packed up her things and boarded a yacht headed for the

nearest airport.
An hour earlier. Jasper was keeping a close eye on Cassian, who was perched on a rock, while texting Leonardo.
[He’s just sitting there on the rocks. I’m honestly worried he might do something crazy, so I’m sticking close. No joke. I’ve been wearing a life jacket around the clock.] Jasper texted.
Leonardo replied: [Yeah, you really need to watch him. He’s been in a pretty rough spot lately.]
[That’s exactly why I forced him to come out here to Kissing Island for a break. I figured maybe a change of scenery would do him some good.] Jasper replied.
[But…it was all for nothing.] Jasper admitted, sounding pretty defeated.
He had been a nervous wreck lately, always worried about Cassian.
He wasn’t joking. He literally slept with one eye open, always on guard.
No one really knew what kind of blow Cassian had suffered, but he’d been so down in the dumps that he’d been drinking nonstop for a whole week.
Jasper wasn’t exaggerating. Cassian was basically living in the wine cellar at that point.
Every time he sobered up even a little, he’d just numb himself with more booze, drinking until he was completely wasted.
No one could stop him.
Honestly, Cassian had drained nearly every bottle of the good stuff in the wine cellar.
If Cassian hadn’t passed out from his alcohol allergy, Jasper never would have gotten him to the hospital. He’d probably still be wasting away in the wine cellar right now.
The doctor had to give him an adrenaline shot to snap him out of it.
Jasper had told the doctor about Cassian’s alcohol allergy.
He wasn’t allergic when he was younger, but after a major family upheaval, that’s when the symptoms started.
A few years ago, he even underwent desensitization therapy, and things had improved a lot. Nobody expected it to come back like this.
Leonardo said it was a sign that his issues were getting worse.
It was really bad. Someone had to watch him around the clock.
When Jasper heard Leonardo say that, he felt really bad about it.
He also asked Leonardo how Cassian ended up with such severe issues.
After thinking it over, Leonardo told him, “Honestly, he’s the most tragic case I’ve ever seen in my entire career, maybe even the most heartbreaking I’ve ever heard of.
“Back then, I could channel his pain into revenge as a kind of therapy. It kept him going for a few more years. But now honestly have no idea how to help him heal, Leonardo admitted, sounding helpless.
All of this traced back to Cassian’s mother.

Even his closest friends only knew that Cassian’s mother had once been kidnapped by foreign terrorists. At the time, Cassian had just come of age, full of youthful energy and ambition.
Mrs. Locke brought him along to a multinational project negotiation, hoping to let him try his hand at it. No one ever expected…that tragedy would hit them so hard.
In the end, Mrs. Locke was gone, and Cassian ended up spending a whole year overseas, lost and alone.
When he finally came back, it was like he’d become a totally different person, almost unrecognizable.

That was when Jasper realized for the first time: once a young man’s spirit was shattered, it was something one could never get back.
And then, Aurelia showed up in his life.
With her around, Cassian slowly found his way back from the darkness.
He didn’t just bounce back. He stormed the business world and became the one Jasper looked up to the most.
But in the end…it all turned out to be nothing but an illusion, gone like smoke.
“If nothing else works, maybe you should up his meds, Leonardo said, sounding helpless.
Jasper let out a silent sigh.
He thought helplessly, ‘If only Aurelia were here.
Maybe it was fate or just some weird coincidence, but out of nowhere, Liam texted him, asking if he was vacationing on the island with Aurelia.
Jasper was caught off guard by the question.
No way Aurelia could be here with us, Jasper thought, confused.
Man, if only Aurelia were here, Jasper wished, feeling helpless.
After Jasper denied it, Liam shot over a screenshot of Aurelia’s Instagram and said, “Isn’t this where you’re staying?”
Jasper let out a sudden yell, startling Cassian, who had been lost in thought.
Cassian turned to look at him, his eyes cold and sharp.
