“If I just ask. Cassian will definitely help me,” Tessa said, her voice dripping with sweetness.

“Cassian treats you so well! He’s already given you a car and a house. He’s so generous! Wouldn’t shock me if he gave you the whole company someday,” Karlie said, totally jealous.

Tessa smiled. “Cassian’s never stingy with me.”

“If a guy really loves a girl, he’ll do anything for her and spend on her, right? That just shows how much Cassian cares about you,” Karlie added.

Aurelia thought to herself, ‘I should remind Mr. Youngkin later that the company’s elevator needs a check–up. It’s moving way too slow!‘

As soon as the elevator hit the first floor, Karlie was all over Tessa. “Hey, can I take your car for a spin? I’ve never driven anything this fancy before! Plus, you can use this as an excuse to get Cassian to come pick you up.”

Tessa chose Cassian instead of getting in the car.

As she handed the keys to Karlie, she told her to be careful and take good care of it.

After all, it was a gift from Cassian.

She totally cherished it.

Karlie was over the moon as she grabbed the keys. “Got it! I’ll take extra good care of your love token!”

Tessa took the chance to call Cassian and ask him to pick her up.

Aurelia had no idea if Cassian agreed or not.

She and Tyson had already slipped away with the crowd.

It was already rush hour, and the streets were packed.

If Tyson gave her a ride, he’d be stuck in traffic for ages.

Aurelia didn’t want to trouble him, so she insisted on taking the subway home.

Tyson couldn’t talk her out of it, so he could only remind her to stay safe and let him know when she got home.

After Tyson left, Aurelia had to cross the street to get to the subway station on the other side.

While she was waiting for the light to change, Karlie sped past in that familiar ice–berry pink Cullinan.

It was the same car Cassian had been driving the day before.

The subway was packed during rush hour, and her new apartment was a bit of a trek from the office, not nearly as

convenient as before.

Plus, she’d have to go out for business meetings a lot, and not having a car was honestly a hassle.

She couldn’t keep asking Tyson for rides every time.

After getting off the subway, Aurelia made up her mind.

Back when she was at Honoria Capital, she either drove the company car or Cassian’s.

And most of the time, it was Cassian’s car.

Before going to bed, Aurelia did a bit of research online and decided to swing by a dealership at lunch the next day to check

out some cars.

Right around noon, Gideon called her. “Didn’t you say you were treating me to lunch?”

“It might be a bit later. I’ve got something to handle right now,” Aurelia said. Of course, I hadn’t forgotten.

Gideon asked, “Busy?”

“No, I just need to swing by a dealership,” Aurelia said.

“Buying a car?” Gideon asked.

“Yeah,” Aurelia replied.

“Need any help? I know a lot about cars,” Gideon offered.

Aurelia paused for a second. “Are you free right now? If you are, I really need your help!”

Honestly, she was totally clueless when it came to cars.

Gideon got there fast, picked Aurelia up, and they headed straight to the dealership.

She set her car budget at under 300 thousand dollars, planning to pay it off in installments.

Money was tight, so she didn’t have much choice.

Once the salesperson got the gist of what she wanted, he recommended a few models.

Gideon helped her out, narrowing it down to two cars that were both stylish and had great specs.

Aurelia checked them out in person, took them for a spin, and was pretty happy with what she saw.

The center of the showroom featured the dealership’s finest cars, including the Cullinan Cassian had gifted Tessa.

Aurelia caught sight of the price.

It was almost three million dollars.

‘Cassian’s really generous, Aurelia thought.

But she didn’t feel envious or bitter at all.

Driving a car she bought with her own money gave Aurelia a real sense of satisfaction.

Even if her car was worth less than a tenth of Tessa’s.

After Aurelia settled on a model, Gideon suggested she test drive it to see how it felt before buying.

So she took it out for a spin.

She loved how it felt, so she headed back to the dealership to seal the deal.

Just as she pulled up to the entrance, Aurelia spotted Tessa and Karlie standig right by the door.

They looked like they were waiting for someone.

Aurelia parked the test car, hopped out, and walked in with the salesperson.

Tessa and Karlie spotted her too.

Tessa had been chatting with Karlie, but her smile faded a notch as soon as she saw Aurelia.

Tessa quickly turned her attention back to Karlie and kept chatting.

“Don’t worry about it. The dealership staff said it’s just a tiny scratch, nothing serious,” Tessa reassured Karlie.

Earlier that morning, Karlie had accidentally scraped the bumper and didn’t hesitate to take it straight to the dealership.

When Tessa heard about it, she came over to see what was going on.

Thankfully, it was just a minor scratch, so Tessa let out a sigh of relief and didn’t forget to reassure Karlie, who was still a bit rattled.

“I was freaking out! This car is the one Cassian gave you as a sign of his love. If anything happened to it while I was driving, I’d feel so guilty!” Karlie said.

“Don’t worry, Cassian’s not the type to get upset over something like this,” Tessa reassured her.

Not long after, Cassian showed up too.

“Cassian got here so fast? He must really be worried about you!” Karlie teased.

Tessa greeted him with a smile. “It was just a minor accident. I told you it wasn’t worth bothering you over, but Karlie went ahead and messaged you on her own.”

“I didn’t mess up your work, did I?” Tessa asked softly.

She was always thoughtful like that.

Cassian replied, “Nothing about you is ever a small thing.”

Karlie, who was standing nearby and being shown off to, couldn’t help but protest, “Hey, can you two show off your love somewhere else? I’m still here!”

Cassian went with Tessa to check out the car’s condition, and when they came out, they ran into Aurelia and Gideon, who had just finished up with the paperwork for her new ride.

Gideon was speaking softly to Aurelia, his expression unusually tender.

Seeing that, Tessa instinctively stopped in her tracks.

She’d insisted to Jasper before that Gideon wasn’t into Aurelia like that.

She thought he was just messing around.

Once the thrill was gone, he’d drop her without a second thought.

The salesperson said the new car would arrive in two days, checked the calendar and said it was an auspicious day, so Aurelia should come back then to pick up her new ride.

Aurelia nodded. “Sounds good.”

Tessa glanced at the car Aurelia had picked out.
