Chapter 104 Painfully Average
Maxwell sneered, My own sister being jealous of me and my girlfriend?
That’s completely ridiculous and absolutely absurd!
“Maxwell, seriously, check if you have some brain injury before you open your mouth!”

After all this time, I can’t believe he still hasn’t figured out who was really stirring trouble between us.
Patience was just glad she had broken things off when she did and saved herself the heartache.
Now, she felt nothing–calm, steady, not the least bit shaken.
She pushed past Maxwell without a word and walked away without looking back.
She had zero interest in wasting breath on him.
He stumbled a step from the shove, and once it sank in, rage boiled up.
He shouted after her retreating figure, “Patience, you’re shameless! After all these years, you’re still ungrateful!
“I genuinely loved you so much back then, and you just ditched me without even looking back. And now you act all high and mighty.”

Patience ignored him and kept walking, not sparing him a glance. This man never thought straight and always played the victim; she was so done with him.
Maxwell stared after her, completely unwilling to accept it.
He was convinced Amelia had gotten into her head again.
“Hah, you’ll come crawling back to me sooner or later!” Maxwell muttered, strangely confident.
He knew Patience and her family well, so he didn’t feel worried.
I’m sure she’ll be begging for my attention soon.
She loved me so deeply once. How could she really stay away?
He pictured all kinds of happy reunions, never realizing Patience had no intention of ever dealing with him again.
Soon after, Patience returned to Amelia’s company, and not long after, Amelia came back too.

“Amelia, how did it go? Did you manage to get the contract canceled?” Patience asked right away, obviously worried.
“Of course I did. Don’t you know who you’re talking to?” Amelia said with a playful wink.
That kind of expression only showed up when she was with people she trusted.
“Haha, that’s my boss,” Patience grinned. “Guess who I ran into just now?
“Maxwell. Talk about bad luck.”
Amelia shrugged. “Don’t worry about him. And no need to hold back either. Even if he finds out, there’s nothing he can do about it.”
As long as they could sign those overlooked talents and lock in the contracts, it wouldn’t matter even if Marcelo found out.
Amelia knew the Nygards inside and out, and she knew Marcelo wanted full control of Nygard Group in the future.

At the agreed time, Tony showed up first, with Rocky and Selena arriving soon after.
“Ms. Amelia.”
As she walked in, they all stood to greet her, while sneaking glances at her.
Having worked at Marcelo’s company for so long, they had all heard of Amelia.
And there were plenty of rumors–most of them being unflattering.
She was said to be spoiled and rebellious, having disappeared for years before suddenly returning.
When she did come back, she constantly clashed with the Nygards and made life hard for
Gianna.
But these three knew Gianna’s true nature.
They also knew the Nygard brothers‘ polished public image didn’t match reality.
Those brothers only ever sacrificed others to boost Gianna, and that favoritism had been a sore spot for a long time.
If Gianna had been genuinely talented, maybe it would’ve been easier to swallow. But she wasn’t–she was painfully average.
Unfortunately, this was the Nygards‘ company, and people without powerful connections didn’t dare complain.
