Honestly, just not being tossed aside or treated like a backup piece was already considered lucky.
Those three talents were the real casualties–ignored, used as fillers, and never taken seriously.
They had thought about leaving before, but every offer they got from other companies came with ridiculous strings attached.
Either the hours were brutal, or the resources offered were nowhere near worth it.
Some even included crazily strict non–compete clauses.
With deals like that, they had no choice but to stick it out at Nygard Group, watching their energy and talent get drained away day after day.
Now, with even a glimmer of opportunity from Amelia, they couldn’t hide the hope in their
eyes.
“Yeah, I already know where you guys are at. I’m guessing Patience gave you the rundown?”
Amelia looked them over and clearly saw the eagerness on their faces.
“Yeah, she told us.” Tony spoke up first, testing the waters. “But what exactly are you planning?”
Of the three, he was a little older and steadier, so it was natural for him to take the lead.
Amelia didn’t hold anything back. She answered calmly but with purpose.
“I went through those early scripts you wrote–the historical drama draft.
“It blended patriotic themes with politics and romance. Honestly, the idea was really solid.”
It was such a pity the project never made it to production.
And the reason was simple. Gianna couldn’t stand it–she said it was too heavy, the lead’s looks weren’t trendy enough, and way too hard to film.
Maxwell, feeling sorry for her, ran straight to Marcelo, and the whole project was shut down.
Amelia scoffed inwardly. No wonder Nygard Group was going downhill–this was exactly why.
“Exactly! That’s what I was good at,” Tony said bitterly, “but they forced me into shallow teen idol shows instead.”

Years of being pushed into work he hated had worn him down.

Getting shoved into genres he didn’t care about, then being blamed for the results and brushed off by directors–it was exhausting.
He was a writer, but half the time he was stuck running errands for directors or filling in as Gianna’s assistant during shoots.
It felt like all the years he’d spent sharpening his craft had been tossed in the trash.

“There’s a modeling competition coming up–I’m sure you’ve heard about it. I’m already signed up, and I want you as my stylist.
“Gianna’s competing too, and Maxwell will be styling her. So bring your best–I know you can blow him out of the water.”
Amelia had already looked through Rocky’s portfolio. His style was sharp, versatile, and exactly the kind of work the industry craved.
With someone like him designing, she was certain he could steal the spotlight at the competition.
Maxwell had always resented Rocky, feeling overshadowed and refusing to admit how good he really was.
If Rocky crushed him openly on stage, it would be the perfect slap in the face.
