The lycan kingdom buzzed with joy and excitement as the Lycan King’s castle shimmered like a newlywed bride. The arrangements were complete, the feast for the evening wedding was being prepared, and Mace had just brought the final suit for Ronan to wear. However, as soon as he entered the Lycan King’s bedroom, the air felt tight with tension.

Ronan sat with his legs crossed on the sofa, a wine glass tightly gripped in his hand. “They say the bride and groom can’t meet before the wedding. Can you believe that?”

Finn and Asher, sitting across from him on separate sofas, stared at him in silence, listening to his frustration seriously.

“Who says that?” Asher finally asked.

“Everyone,” Ronan groaned. “It’s ridiculous that two people who know every fiber of each other can’t see each other until the wedding.”

Finn took a sip of his drink, then asked, “Then why did you agree to it?”

“Seraphina agreed without any problem. So naturally, I was blocked from seeing her,” Ronan muttered bitterly, draining the wine in one go. “I should’ve objected then! Verkas is pissed, and my lycan wants to see her as soon as possible. My patience is thinning!”

A heavy silence fell in the room. Finn broke it with a quiet question, “When was the last time you saw her?”

“Yesterday.”

Both Finn and Asher stilled. Asher gritted his teeth. “Fuck! I thought you hadn’t seen her in a week or something. But you saw her yesterday, and you’re about to marry her in a couple of hours?! Why are you so restless? I almost thought you were wronged! Learn to be patient!”

“You haven’t found your mate yet, right?” Ronan shot Asher a cold look. “Let me know how every word you just said feels when you meet your soulmate.”

“I don’t want a soulmate. I’m not planning to find one,”

“But your uncle is actively looking for an arranged bride for you. I heard he sent out ambassadors a few weeks ago.”

“Yeah, he does not know when to give up,” Asher huffed, taking a sip of wine before glancing at

Before he could finish what he was doing, his phone lit up, the one he’d left charging on the table beside the sofa. It had been dead just moments ago. He reached for it, and as soon as he switched it on, a message popped up on the screen.

eyes brightened as he saw it was from Seraphina. Just as he was about to click on it, a portal to the room burst open.

“Alpha Ronan!!”

Ronan, Finn, and Asher all turned their attention to Grace, who looked like she’d run all the way there. Their gazes shifted to Silas, who had opened the portal for her from Jude’s pack, his expression darkening slightly.

“I mean, Lycan King,” Grace quickly corrected herself, flashing a bright but panicked smile, her eyes darting to the phone in Ronan’s hand for a fleeting moment. A sigh of relief escaped her when she noticed he hadn’t opened the message yet.

Mace, clearly confused, asked, “Luna Grace, what are you doing here?”

Grace laughed awkwardly. “Actually, Seraphina…um, she forgot her hairband at the Lycan King’s Castle. She wants it back.”

Lily, listening from the other side of the portal, could hardly believe her ears. Could those three men really be fooled by such a ridiculous excuse?

Everyone in the room blinked at her absurd explanation. However, Ronan’s eyes went to the portal to get a glimpse of a certain desirable face that he could feel beyond the portal but could not see.

The room fell into stunned silence as Grace held her breath, awaiting their response.

“Okay,” Ronan finally replied, placing his phone back on the table and standing up.

Grace’s face lit up with a sudden brightness. Finn and Asher exchanged looks, watching her excitement as Ronan left the room. But before they could make sense of anything, Grace flashed them both a grin and without warning snatched the phone from the table. She sprinted toward the portal, and the next thing they knew, a chorus of female screams echoed in their ears as she disappeared through it.

The portal shut with a soft snap, and Finn and Asher remained frozen in place, still processing what had just happened.

“What the hell was that?” Asher asked, his brow furrowed.

“I was about to ask the same thing…” Finn replied, equally perplexed.

Silas turned to see the girls rushing to the corner with Ronan’s phone.

“I’ll quickly delete it!” Seraphina said, unlocking Ronan’s phone. Thankfully he had told her his password, she was moving quickly.

Silas stood behind, his brow furrowing in confusion.

“Did they just steal his phone?” Aran standing a step behind Silas exclaimed in disbelief. “What are they doing?”

“I don’t know,” Silas murmured.

Earlier he had been dragged over to this by Seraphina, who demanded he open the portal to Ronan’s place.

They needed to return to the temple quickly; Seraphina had to get ready for her wedding. But as he watched her frantically scroll through Ronan’s phone, Silas could sense something was off. His suspicion was confirmed when Seraphina suddenly gasped. “No!”

“What’s wrong?” Lily asked, panic rising in her voice.

“Has he seen it?!” Grace held her breath, anxiety thick in the air.

Seraphina shook her head, eyes wide remembering something, “Ronan has two phones!”
