Janice couldn't help but say, "Stop flattering yourself."
But Sophia ignored Janice, looking expectantly at Orion.
Orion looked at Sophia coldly. "Your father's condition was for me to provide money to send his mistress and son abroad, ensuring them a comfortable life until he's released from prison."
Hearing this, Sophia's face instantly twisted. "Impossible. My dad wouldn't do such a thing."
Susanna smiled bitterly. "Sister, I told you before. Dad has an illegitimate son outside, and he loves that child. You just never listened to me."
It was no secret in the Sinclair family that their father always wanted a son.
Orion ignored the Sinclair sisters. He walked straight to Lemira and said, "It's all going to end soon."
Lemira smiled and nodded. "Yes. Murderers must eventually pay the price."
But Sophia let out a shrill voice. "Lemira, don't think you've won. As this trial goes on, my mother might get life in prison. But she will still be alive. She won't get the death penalty. Do you think a death sentence is that easy to hand down?"
Sophia had specifically consulted the law; life imprisonment was the most likely outcome.
As long as her mother was alive, Lemira would be in pain, since her parents were dead.
Lemira's expression cooled. Sebastian spoke up, "Whether she gets the death penalty isn't up to you."
"Is it? Then check your phones and see what the public is focusing on right now. The court won't easily hand down a death sentence."
Seeing Sophia's smug expression, Lemira had a bad premonition.
What was this woman up to now?
