Seeing Amanda's pale face, Lemira asked softly, "Is the treatment painful?"
"It's manageable. Compared to a kidney transplant, this is nothing."
Amanda took Lemira's hand, her voice choking up. "I'm so sorry."
"Amanda, why are you apologizing out of nowhere?"
"I truly wronged you. About my poisoning... call the police. This can be tied to the car crash from back then. It'll ensure she gets a harsher sentence. She needs to pay for what she did."
Lemira was stunned. "Did Orion tell you?"
"No, I figured it out myself. I'm not an idiot; how long could you guys hide it from me?"
Amanda looked at Lemira. "I'm fine, don't worry about me. Call the police. I'm willing to testify."
Lemira squeezed Amanda's cold hand. "There's no rush for that."
"There is a rush. Let's just get it all over with, otherwise, I won't be able to sleep at night."
Better to rip the band-aid off now than drag out the suffering.
Lemira never expected Amanda to uncover the truth on her own.
Seeing that Amanda's energy was fading, she said, "I'll discuss this with Orion. Just rest for now, don't stress yourself out."
Amanda nodded, closed her eyes peacefully, and rested.
Lemira quietly slipped out of the room. When she looked up, Rowan was still in the hallway, clearly waiting for her.
Given that he was treating Amanda, Lemira walked over to him.
"How's her condition?"
