When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 734

“The deed is in my name. If you really want to make this ugly, I’ll call the police and you’ll be thrown out, one way or another.”

Lemira stood her ground, unwavering.

Lucian frowned. “Enough, stop arguing. Since the villa belongs to Lemmy, it’s only fair she decides how it’s decorated.”

“Lucian, why are you taking Lemira’s side? When Eve told me about this, I didn’t believe her, but now I can’t help but see it.”

“Evander, if I agreed to let you remodel the house, wouldn’t that be taking your side instead?”

Evander insisted, completely unabashed, “Eve and I are getting married. Isn’t it normal for you to favor us?”

“I think you’re the one not thinking straight. I don’t want to show favoritism to anyone. Whoever owns the house gets to make the decisions.”

Looking at Evander, Lucian felt nothing but disappointment. Evander hadn’t changed at all since childhood—still selfish and self-absorbed.

Just then, seeing Evander getting nowhere, Evelina finally emerged.

She stood beside Evander, her voice full of grievance. “Lucian, I only want to redecorate for the good of the Langston family. The AI project has taken off recently, and a lot of people are eager to work with Asher. I thought we could use my wedding as a chance to bring everyone together and build some partnerships.”

Lucian’s brow furrowed. “Has Asher already sent the money?”

“The first payment’s already gone through.”

Evelina felt a surge of excitement—her plan was nearly complete.

But Lucian’s tone turned cautious. “Evelina, I heard you were the one who introduced PZ Group to Asher. When did you get to know people from PZ Group?”

Evelina’s expression grew awkward. “Lucian, it was just by chance. I’m a business school student, after all. I met them at a few networking events with my classmates.”

“With your background, why would such a major international group come to you instead of going straight to Asher?”
