It seemed the Sinclair family had been having a very hard time lately.
No wonder they hadn't caused any trouble; they likely had no energy left for it.
Orion glanced at Sophia's hand, his tone freezing. "Let go."
"Orion, how could you be so ruthless?"
Sophia had seen the cold reality of human nature recently and had suffered enough. It wasn't until last night that she found out Orion was the one orchestrating everything behind the scenes.
Orion shoved Sophia away and took out a tissue, wiping his clothes with a look of utter disgust.
He glared at her. "What did you expect? Did you think you could scheme against the Everhart family and walk away unscathed?"
At that moment, Susanna Sinclair walked over, supporting an equally haggard Mrs. Amelia.
Mrs. Amelia looked at Orion. "A lawsuit is one thing, but business operations are another. Do you really have to bankrupt the Sinclair Group?"
She never expected Orion to be pulling strings in the background to destroy them financially.
Orion looked at her with pure repulsion. "If you had just turned yourself in peacefully, at least the Sinclair family could have survived, and your daughter could have kept her luxurious lifestyle. But now? That chance is gone."
Since the Sinclair family refused to listen to reason, he was more than happy to use force.
Mrs. Amelia's eyes were filled with despair. "You're too cruel. Does your mother know what you're doing?"
Ever since their last encounter, Mrs. Amelia hadn't been able to reach her former best friend, Mrs. Amanda.
"She won't stop me from doing anything," Orion stated coldly.
"Impossible. She wouldn't just watch the Sinclair family go bankrupt."
Mrs. Amelia still refused to believe it.
Lemira couldn't hold back anymore. "Do you think after all your scheming, Mrs. Amanda is a fool? That she would just let you keep manipulating her?"
Lemira's gaze was icy. "If the Sinclair family hadn't used underhanded tactics to steal my parents' bid, you would have gone bankrupt years ago. You've been clinging to life for years on stolen time; you've had enough."
Sophia was unwilling to accept this. "But business competition is always like this. My mother never meant to kill your parents."
"Save your breath. After your mother caused my parents' deaths, she bribed the executive in charge of The Aurora Tech Project and poached him to the Sinclair Group. Are you telling me that wasn't planned?
"If my parents were still alive, even if you poached their staff, they would have still successfully completed the project. Why would you leave a strong competitor alive? You intended to rip them out by the roots."
Since working at Maple Group as a shareholder, Lemira had learned firsthand how brutal corporate competition could be.
She had figured out the Sinclair family's plot to murder her parents—it was a perfectly interlocked chain of events.
Lemira stepped forward, staring down the Sinclair women. "Bankruptcy was always going to be your ending!"
It had just been delayed for years, at the cost of her parents' lives.
