Just two days before her new show started filming, Joaquin unexpectedly showed up at her office again.
This time, Henrietta was completely unbothered. She simply ignored him.
But Joaquin deliberately provoked her. "So, Mr. Nash hasn't made a move against the Leland family?"
Henrietta looked up at him. "I already explained it the other day. Britney saved his life, and no one carelessly attacks their savior. Unless... the other party crosses his bottom line."
Joaquin raised an eyebrow. "Aren't you his bottom line?"
Henrietta smiled lightly. "The point is, you haven't actually done anything to me. Otherwise... why don't you try something and see what happens?"
She neatly turned the tables on him.
Joaquin was momentarily stunned, but then he chuckled. "I'll have to think about that."
"Take your time," Henrietta replied coolly.
Joaquin sat for a little while longer before taking his leave.
Winona walked over immediately. "What was that about?"
Henrietta filled her in on the whole situation.
Winona frowned. "So you're saying Yosef ultimately sided with Britney?"
Henrietta met her gaze. "Does it count as taking her side?"
Winona's frown deepened. "I... I don't know."
"Not really," Henrietta said calmly. "A life debt is incredibly heavy. And the Leland siblings actually made a fair point—we can't just destroy every single person who likes me or has their eye on him, right?"
"So what's your plan?" Winona asked.
Henrietta organized her script. "No plan. I'll just let nature take its course. Unless the Leland brothers dare to do something unforgivable—like putting their hands on me, or worse..."
"That's the real bottom line. I'm his wife, after all. He would never let anyone cross that boundary, no matter how much he owes them."
"But right now, it's just harmless admiration and pursuing, right? If they want to waste their time, let them. I'll just ignore it."
"But can you really keep living like this?" Winona pressed.
Henrietta laughed. "I'm a married woman with a great husband and a thriving career. This doesn't cost me a thing. We'll just see who runs out of patience first."
