When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 385

It wasn't like she was going to show up to a nice dinner looking like a mess.

Once they sat down, the food was served.

Winona remained completely silent.

Joaquin took the lead, gesturing to the spread. "Please."

Only then did Winona pick up her silverware.

But she still didn't speak.

She offered no explanation for why she had invited him out.

Joaquin observed her for a moment before speaking up. "Did you invite me here to tell me something? Do you want me to stop bothering Henrietta?"

Winona lifted her gaze to meet his. "If I told you to stop, would you?"

Joaquin paused. "What do you think?"

Winona's brows furrowed slightly as she looked down at her plate. Then, she looked back up. "Probably not."

Joaquin let out a hearty laugh. "Since you already know the answer, let's leave it at that."

Winona stayed quiet and continued eating.

"So there's nothing to negotiate," Joaquin added. "Let's just... enjoy the meal."

Winona set her silverware down and looked him dead in the eye. "Do you want to try a marriage alliance with me?"

Joaquin had just taken a sip of water when she dropped the bomb, and he instantly choked.

It wasn't a polite little cough—he legitimately inhaled water straight into his windpipe.

His face instantly turned beet red as he broke into a violent fit of coughing.

Startled, Winona watched him with a skeptical expression.

Seeing that he was genuinely struggling to breathe, she quickly stood up and hurried over to his side.

She grabbed a napkin for him. "Are you alright?"

Joaquin couldn't stop coughing. Hesitating for a second, Winona reached out and firmly patted his back.
