“He’s with Derisha.” Elena smiles again, and this time I’m confusel.

Does she want something? That’s how you can tell how much we don’t know each other. I look at her smiling and I can’t tell if it’s real or an act. But I know what it means when Demetra pots. I know what it means when she twirls her hair around her finger. I thought I didn’t know anything my mate but seems like I collected little things she did in the past and kept them in my heart without even realizing.

Elena links her arm through mine. I stare at it as we walk into an empty part of the house.

“I heard from Regan that we finally got the land.” She glances up at me. “It’s the farmland that feeds all their supermarkets, right? The Lion Pride has like three million in population so…in wo weeks, they’ll start feeling it. They’ll have to buy from other packs. Prices will skyrocket cause other packs will take advantage of it therefore, the Lion’s pride low class won’t be able to eat for long.”

She puts her hand on my chest and fixes my collar like some doing wife.

“What?” I stop walking and her brown eyes blink up at me.
