So I come out with a watch on my wrist and check the time. I gave them thirty minutes to bring her back here, and it’s past that. My wolf paces beneath my skin so I take the elevator myself to the Luna chamber to find out what’s going on.

As the elevator opens to the hallway, a staff member comes out of the room.

“Alpha.” She stumbles over the word and her pulse flutters visibly at her throat.

“Where is everyone else? Is she done?”

“Um…” This one look left, then right, like she’s searching for an escape route. “Yes, I’m just going to get her a glass of water to calm her nerves.”

I move my back away from the elevator wall and step out, uncrossing my arms. I’ll change those nerves with a few words.

“Demi?”

I call her name as I enter, noting the dressing room since it’s written on a title over the entrance of that part of the chamber. The word LUNA carved beneath it in gold letters that haven’t meant anything in years.

I find her seated in front of a vanity table, turning the leather plush chair around to see me at the entrance. Oh, there’s the pretty little liar. I fill the shape of the doorframe and catch her tucking her phone away with a breath she didn’t mean to let

out.

The dress they put her in is white lace, fitted through the body and softer at the knees.

The staff put her in a white lace dress that hugs her body but flares at the knee area. Something about her hair and the dress being white and her skin being paler than usual with a red blush on it and seemingly no other makeup… that makes me feel real. And then it makes me realize she is doing her best to put in no effort to bond with me. She may have braided her hair to look simple, but she looks regal as a princess. A true Luna. She doesn’t need diamonds or gold leaf on her eyelids. She just needs to exist, and the room bends around her like she belongs there.

I walk close until my waist is level with where she’s seated. I catch her phone out of her grasp-

“Emris!”

I hold it high and read the last message she sent

It’s a half written something about how she’s fine and no one should worry about her…

“Am I your damn prisoner? You have no right to go through my phone!” She grabs it back, rising on her feet, but I’ve already seen what I wanted to see.

“Outside. Now,”

I start walking away. My back is straight.

This bond… is just for my daughter.” Demetra whispers behind me.

By all means. I tilt my neck as if I want to look at her. But it’s just me… seeing her as no one who should be telling me what this bond should look like! She’s supposed to be at my mercy. She was just on her knees a moment ago. begging me to not

“I won’t sleep with you.” Her voice hardens. “You are free to get an omega, a model, an actress, a pop star…whatever, to fulfill your desires. I am only agreeing to this just because I want to protect my daughter-”

“Protect my DAUGHTER…from what!?”

I roar so much that the perfume bottles on the vanity rattle.

“From… from… your damn family.”

“My mother will not hurt her granddaughter-”

“Yeah, she’ll only hurt another person’s daughter.” Demetra says, insinuating herself. The woman she was before Amira.

“I’ll make sure she apologizes for that but there is nowhere safe on this earth that my daughter can be… the earlier you get that into your head, the better for you. You think I’m bonding with you because I’m obsessed with you? “hat…cause you’re the first fuck I’ve had in five years?”

Instead of replying after setting me aflame, Demetra just wants to walk away.

I hate that. I hate that she still has power over me. I hate that!

So just before she walks out, my madness corrupts my senses and I snatch that phone off her hand again.

“What the hell are you doing!?”

I put her face in front of the camera and it unlocks for me. I press record on the camera and set it against the vanity. Demetra looks at it, then looks at me in confusion.

“You want your family to know you’re alright? I’ll show them you’re in safe hands.”

I grab her arm and throw her against the vanity, bending her body into a curve. Her hips push out. I put a hand on top of her body to keep her in place and I don’t need to exert that much strength since I’m more powerful than her by DNA. In this angle, when I send back this video to her brother or whoever the fuck she was texting, they’ll just see me taking the fucking belt out of my pants to pound his sister.

I slap my hand on her thigh and pull her gown up around her lap to prove it. But I stop there. I don’t go further. I don’t need to cause the implication is enough. When I think I’ve taken a good shot of it…I grab the phone, and stop recording.

Demetra just stares at me breathlessly. With a red tear-streaked face but I crop it nicely. I mute the sound of her yelling at me. And I send it with: Yours faithfully, Emris.

“Just sent it to your bro.”

“ARE YOU INSANE!?” she growls.
