Who’s the Dog Now? novel Chapter 163

Naomi was taken aback.

She glanced at Lennon beside her. He was focused on driving, his profile sharp and handsome, exuding a unique charm.

Then she heard him say, “Once you realize your own capabilities far outweigh the troubles others cause you, you’ll see that none of those troubles really matter.”

Naomi mulled over his words.

Though she believed him in her heart, she still asked uncertainly, “Is that really possible?”

Lennon nodded. “It is.”

Naomi thought for a long moment before breaking into a smile. “Okay, I believe you.”

In fact, that’s what she had been trying to do all along—working hard at what she loved, learning and growing, all to improve herself and find happiness.

Lennon’s words echoed her own thoughts, confirming that she had been on the right path.

Naomi suddenly felt her confidence surge.

“Thank you.”

Naomi touched her nose sheepishly. “It feels like ever since we got to know each other, all I've been doing is thanking you.”

Lennon had truly helped her so much.

Naomi pressed her lips together, a sense of guilt welling up inside her.

She didn't want to be the one always taking; she wanted to be able to help Lennon too.

“Don’t overthink it.”

Lennon said, “Your being down in the dumps affects the progress of the game's concept art.”

“I’m just fulfilling my responsibilities as a boss.”

Naomi grinned. “Really? Are you like this with Steven and the others too?”

She wanted to ask if this level of attentiveness was also part of his duties as a boss.

But she didn't dare, so she followed him silently into the examination room.

“Young lady, I know you youngsters have your fun, but this is just not acceptable.”

Naomi, already feeling awkward, looked up in surprise at the doctor's words. “I'm sorry, what are you talking about, Doctor?” she asked, completely lost.

She didn't understand at all.

The doctor, with the calm expression of someone who has 'seen it all before,' glanced at Naomi and then at Lennon, who was waiting nearby.

He tut-tutted and said, “Since you're a bit shy, young lady, I'll talk to your boyfriend. Young man, you can't be so rough.”

“Look at her skin, it's so fair and delicate. The slightest mark shows up clearly. If you keep carrying on like this, how is the poor girl supposed to go out in public?”

“You need to take better care of your girlfriend. You seem like a mature, steady man, so why are you being so reckless about this? Even if a young couple is passionate, you have to exercise some restraint.”
