Who’s the Dog Now? novel Chapter 193

"You're so arrogant. You must have bullied this girl a lot behind the scenes."

"Hilarious. The mistress is so bold! Anyone who didn't know better would think you were the actual girlfriend!"

"Making her kneel, making her bow her head... what are you, the queen?"

The crowd sneered as they pulled Naomi aside. Alone, she was no match for them. She coldly told them not to touch her and that she would call the police, but that only egged them on.

"You're calling the police? Great! Let them investigate what you've really been up to!"

"You made her kneel and bow, and now you want to call the police? So you only feel pain when you're the one getting hurt? Is everyone else just worthless to you?"

Pushed back and forth by the crowd, Naomi's head spun. Her eyes welled up with tears of frustration. She wanted to tell everyone that Tiffany was lying, that none of it was true, but no one believed her.

Tiffany's shameless performance had completely brainwashed them. Naomi thought she saw a few girls helping Tiffany up, comforting her in soft voices and brushing the dust off her head and hands.

Naomi's eyes burned with fury. Were these people really this brainless?

Tiffany could barely contain her smirk. It was obvious she was doing this on purpose, yet they all believed her?

"I'm not the other woman. The man's hospital room is just upstairs. If you don't believe me, I can take you there—"

"Tiffany?"

"What happened to you?"

Before Naomi could finish, Zebulon came limping over.

He had only come down for some fresh air when he saw Tiffany looking a mess.

"Fine, be stubborn. Do you have any idea what happens to women like you? They get stripped and thrown into the street. We were just trying to teach you a lesson since you're young, hoping to set you straight, but you're just willful and refuse to change. I think you need to be taught a real lesson!"

An older woman said with disgust, "If she were my daughter, I'd beat her to death! So young and already a mistress. She has no shame!"

"Exactly! I can't imagine what kind of parents would raise a daughter like that..."

The crowd's hateful words were like invisible clubs, striking Naomi repeatedly.

Naomi felt as if the people surrounding her had transformed. She could no longer make out their faces, only seeing them closing in, their mouths open wide as if to devour her.

"It's not me! I didn't do it!"

Naomi covered her ears, trying to block out their words. The crowd started pushing, and she felt a hard shove, sending her stumbling into a man.
