A red exclamation mark appeared next to the sent message.
Tiffany stared at it, puzzled.
She refreshed the screen several times, but the exclamation mark remained stubbornly real.
She scrolled up and saw that her previous messages to Naomi had all gone through, though Naomi had never replied.
Did that mean... Naomi had just blocked her?
Tiffany was momentarily stunned.
Did Naomi block her because she'd hit a nerve, or because she was completely done with them?
Tiffany stared intently at her phone screen, repeatedly trying to send messages, but each attempt was met with a string of red exclamation marks. The messages weren't getting through.
"Fine, have it your way, Naomi!"
Tiffany decided Naomi must have lost her composure. A mocking sneer spread across her face. "With that little tolerance, you still dare to go against me? Just wait — there will be plenty more moments ahead to break you down.”
She glanced at Zebulon, still fast asleep, and smiled victoriously.
She snuggled into his arms and closed her eyes, utterly content.
...
Naomi put down her phone, her expression calm.
Patricia leaned over to take a look. "Who was that?"
Naomi said, "It was Tiffany. She slept with Zebulon."
"Again?"
Naomi blinked at Patricia's response before remembering they had caught the two of them in bed together before.
The entire school had witnessed the foolish things Naomi had done for him.
Who would believe that she could just let him go so easily?
Naomi closed her book with a sigh of resignation. "I thought my recent behavior made it obvious enough. Do they still not believe me?"
"Well, no one's really doubting you..."
After all, Naomi was hardly ever on campus anymore, and she was no longer a fixture by Zebulon's side. Though it felt strange at first, people had gotten used to it over time.
There were even posts on the school forum about it.
People were placing bets on when Naomi and Zebulon would get back together.
Naomi's face darkened. "What is wrong with them?"
