Who’s the Dog Now? novel Chapter 54

“Please take us to the nearest hotel.”

The driver hesitated. “But my camera is recording…”

Tiffany, knowing how this worked, slipped him a wad of cash and typed on her phone: [Just pretend you’re stopping to buy cigarettes and drop us off. Then you can drive to the original destination.]

The driver, seeing the logic in her plan, nodded. “Alright.”

The car started moving. As Zebulon’s body swayed with the motion of the vehicle, Tiffany reached out and pulled him into her arms.

He quickly fell asleep against her.

At the hotel, Tiffany struggled to get him into the room. She then stripped off both their clothes and slid into bed, settling herself in Zebulon’s embrace.

She closed her eyes blissfully, waiting for morning to come.

When Patricia’s alarm blared, she realized it was already morning.

She instinctively glanced over at Naomi’s bed and was surprised to see it empty. She must have gotten up at some point.

Just then, Naomi emerged from the bathroom, and their eyes met.

“Holy crap, you were out eating until two in the morning, and then I saw you watching drawing tutorials. How are you already up?”

“You scared me.”

“Do you have unlimited energy or something?”

Naomi couldn’t help but laugh at Patricia’s dramatic reaction. “I’m just not used to sleeping in. Once I’m awake, I get up.”

“Besides, I have my interview today. I wanted to get up early to be better prepared.”

Patricia then remembered Naomi’s interview was scheduled for that afternoon. She scrambled out of bed.

Patricia pinched Naomi’s nose. “Of course. Even if I was busy, I’d cancel. Today is a big day for my darling Naomi. Let’s go! You finish your makeup, I’ll go get ready. We can grab breakfast, go to class, and then head straight there.”

Naomi nodded, a genuine smile spreading across her face. “Thank you, Patricia.”

Patricia grinned back at her. After getting ready, they headed to class. On the way, Naomi drew a lot of attention.

She was already beautiful, but now with makeup and a new style of dress, she was turning even more heads than before.

When Colin and his friends saw Naomi, their expressions turned strange.

Patricia noticed them too. She expected them to come over and cause trouble, but to her surprise, they shoved each other and scurried off down a different path. Patricia was bewildered. “What’s with them? Did they have a change of heart?”

Naomi spared them only a single glance before looking away.

“They don’t matter anymore. Don’t worry about them.”
