Who’s the Dog Now? novel Chapter 65

As Naomi and Patricia found seats off to the side, a few people huddled around Zebulon, whispering.

Zebulon had noticed her too. Naomi's skin was normally so fair it almost glowed, so it was hard to miss that she was a shade darker today.

He’d been bored hanging out with his friends at a bar the night before, but seeing Naomi looking so worn out—presumably over him—gave him a sudden jolt of energy.

“Hmph.”

Zebulon lifted his chin arrogantly and deliberately kissed Tiffany on the cheek in front of everyone.

The lecture hall erupted in a chorus of oohs and aahs.

Naomi had felt a wave of sleepiness the moment she sat down. She was about to rest her head on the desk when the sudden commotion startled her.

“What’s going on?”

Patricia immediately cupped Naomi’s head and turned it away.

“Just some clowns desperate for attention. Don’t look.”

Naomi instantly understood and her expression cooled. She put her head back down and quickly fell asleep.

Zebulon, meanwhile, was whispering sweet nothings to Tiffany, periodically glancing over at Naomi. He was annoyed to see that she had her back to them, head down on the desk, completely ignoring the show.

He started to get angry. He hated being the center of attention, but he'd made a special effort today just to make Naomi jealous. How dare she not even watch?

Well, Zebulon was determined to see who would hold out longer.

“I hope she comes to her senses soon. She really has no reason to be fighting with you like this.”

Tiffany hugged Zebulon tightly. Though she spoke as if she wanted them to reconcile, she secretly hoped Naomi and Zebulon would be done for good.

She shot a look at a few of her friends, who immediately took out their phones and started discreetly taking pictures.

By the time the class was over, the news of Tiffany and Zebulon's relationship was all over the campus forum.

Zebulon and his friends were already campus celebrities thanks to their family backgrounds and looks. And since Naomi’s pursuit of him had been so spectacularly public, everyone had taken to calling her “that intense girl” behind her back.
