Who’s the Dog Now? novel Chapter 68

Patricia leaned over and saw that Naomi was looking up reference materials for game art. She clicked her tongue and quietly picked up a book.

Truthfully, Patricia wasn’t very interested in finance either. She preferred reading manga and watching TV shows. If her family had allowed it, she probably would have gone to art school.

But she was also self-aware enough to know her personality wasn't cut out for the entertainment industry. She’d probably get canceled for saying the wrong thing. So, she was content to be a freeloader at home.

Her brother made enough money, so she’d never have to worry about anything.

“Naomi.”

Thinking of her brother, Patricia couldn’t help but lean closer to Naomi again. “Have you thought about what I said last time? Want me to send you my brother’s number? You two could get to know each other.”

Goosebumps prickled on Naomi’s skin. “Are you serious?”

Patricia's brother was all the way in Koyn. While Naomi’s family hadn’t forbidden her from marrying someone far away, a long-distance relationship like that seemed impossible.

Patricia gasped. “You actually considered it?”

“So, it’s not completely out of the question.”

Naomi was speechless.

“No, I was just thinking from a practical standpoint, you—”

“Hey, I get it, I get it! I’ll message my brother right now and tell him to open a branch office here. His future wife is more important than making money. He’ll definitely understand!”

Seeing her actually about to send a message, Naomi lunged for her phone.

“Patricia, stop messing around!”

Patricia let Naomi snatch her phone. Before she could say anything, the screen lit up. Naomi instinctively glanced down and found herself face-to-face with a handsome man on the screen.

Colbert noticed the slight blush on her earlobes, and his gaze softened.

Patricia saw her chance and beamed, wrapping an arm around Naomi’s shoulder. “See, bro? Isn’t my roommate gorgeous? We’re struggling with some of our major courses. Could you maybe help us out?”

Naomi’s eyes widened, and she was about to protest, but Patricia patted her arm, silently telling her not to speak.

Naomi pressed her lips together and said nothing.

“Of course.”

Colbert looked at Naomi. “If there’s anything you don’t understand, you can always ask me.”

Patricia leaned in and whispered smugly in Naomi's ear, “Heh, my brother graduated from a top university with a finance degree. Your coursework will be a piece of cake for him!”
