Timothy's mouth twitched. "Yes, sir!"
Leroy was obsessed with his medical research, so he would definitely compromise.
After hanging up, Timothy worked through the night to arrange for Leroy's position at Riverbend Hospital.
Meanwhile, Cedric received a message from Liliana telling him dinner was ready.
The noodles were cooked.
He got up and went downstairs.
Downstairs, Liliana was sitting at the dining table, looking at two bowls of steaming noodles.
While cooking, she had been trying to figure out how to ask Cedric for money.
In their two years of marriage, before she had discovered the relationship between Cedric and Sylvia, she had asked him for money.
Back then, she felt they were husband and wife. If she needed money, it was his duty to provide it.
But now, she felt… like she was selling herself, trading her body for cash.
Only when she pleased him would he give her money.
In her heart, this marriage had soured.
The man sat down at the head of the table. His well-defined hand picked up a fork as he looked at her.
She still seemed preoccupied.
Probably still worried about Hale.
But he didn't plan on telling her about his arrangement for Leroy.
He had seen the true colors of the Preston family and didn't want to get entangled with them.
In the end, Liliana couldn't bring herself to ask.
She would wait a little longer. There were still a few days left.
The next morning, Cedric informed her that the family dinner at the estate had been canceled.
Coincidentally, when she logged into The AuraRun Design Contest portal, she received a notification of her elimination.
Her design draft had not passed the preliminary round.
Her mood immediately worsened. She didn't even leave the house, instead pulling out her design draft and studying it meticulously.
Furious, Liliana immediately blocked Sylvia on WhatsApp.
She lay in bed all day, not even eating.
That evening, just as Cedric returned, Erma rushed over worriedly. "Young Master, please go check on Madam. She hasn't eaten all day."
"Is that so?" Cedric's heart sank. He took off his coat and headed straight upstairs.
The bedroom door was slightly ajar, and a faint light shone through. He could vaguely see her silhouette sitting on the bay window.
She was engrossed in looking at interior design works from the past two years on her laptop.
She was so focused that she hadn't even turned on the lights. The faint glow from the computer screen illuminated her face.
Her long hair was messily splayed over her shoulders, and her dark eyes were glued to the screen.
Suddenly, the room was flooded with light.
She instinctively squinted and looked up at Cedric striding towards her.
The man still carried the chill of early winter, and it seeped into Liliana's skin, raising goosebumps on her exposed arms.
