Chapter 71

Claim 50 Coins By Check in

Two days passed in the blink of an eye.

I tried my best, but one million was an impossible number for me at that time.

When there was no other way, I thought of what Ragnar had said to me that night, “If you need anything, feel free to call me anytime.”

I hesitated for a moment, but then I dialed Ragnar’s number.

After a long wait, the call was not answered. Ragnar didn’t answer.

I was unsure whether he was busy or he didn’t want to answer my call at all.

I held the phone tightly and waited for a while, but I didn’t receive a call back from Ragnar.

I couldn’t bear it anymore. I went to the Blackthorn Group in the rain and was told that Ragnar was attending a banquet at the Glass Hotel today.

I went home and found an old dress of mine. After changing into it, I quickly put on a coat and hurriedly left for the hotel by taxi.

The rain was getting heavier and heavier. I walked through the entrance, holding an umbrella in one hand and lifting my skirt with the other. However,

I was stopped at the door and asked, “Lady, do you have your invitation letter with you?”

‘Please, can you make an exception and let me in? I am looking for someone and I will leave as soon as I finish talking to him..”

I paid no attention to the surrounding gazes as I timidly whispered and negotiated with the person.

Sorry. Without an invitation letter, I can’t let you in

I knew that he was not being difficult with me; it was just his job. But I wouldn’t give up persuading him to let me in.

The waiter suddenly greeted, “Mr. Silvermane.”

I turned my head and saw Ayla wearing a new high-end dress, walking over with Lucian.

Fenris lagged behind, holding the umbrella for them.

Lucian saw me and furrowed his brow, “What are you doing here?”

The waiter saw Lucian talk to me and realized that the two of us knew each other. He immediately said to Lucian with fear and trepidation, “Mr. Silvermane, I’m sorry. I didn’t know this young lady is your friend, I will let her in right away.”

She is not a friend of mine.” Lucian interrupted in a low voice and, as he walked away, coldly stated, “I didn’t want to see her inside.”
