Wrong Number, Right Alpha novread novel Chapter 2

Chapter 2

After returning to the training grounds, I looked at the pack members roughhousing near the lockers and immediately felt a chill crawl down my spine.

I trained and fought with these people every single day.

Sometimes we looked more like enemies than packmates.

If Noctis really turned out to be one of them, I was seriously going to die on the spot.

Leaning against the locker, I scrolled through my chat history with Noctis, trying to find any clues.

And surprisingly, I actually found one.

Last month, Noctis’s necklace had broken, and he wanted to replace it.

At the time, he happened to be attending the Alpha Ball. Nearby was a famous shopping mall called Bellmont Center, so while he was there, he asked me to help him pick out a new necklace.

He’d sent me several pictures.

In the end, I chose a wolf fang necklace for him.

He bought it immediately after, which meant all I had to do now was figure out who in the pack was wearing that necklace.

Simple, right?

Yeah. No.

I wandered around the training grounds, the pack hall, even the pack house several times.

Nothing. Not a single person was wearing it.

Frowning, I texted Noctis again.

[Are you still wearing that wolf fang necklace you bought?]

His reply came almost instantly.

[Of course. I wear it every day.]

That only confused me more.

Then why hadn’t I seen it?

I was still stuck thinking about it when my Beta suddenly mind-linked me.

“Cora, Alpha wants you in his office.”

Our current Alpha was Finn Ashford, who had only recently inherited the position from his father.

Tall. Handsome. Powerful.

Basically every she-wolf in the pack’s dream mate.

But personally, I always thought he was way too arrogant and full of himself.

While the other girls desperately shoved their tongues down his throat at parties, I usually stayed in the corner eating cake.

When I walked into the Alpha’s office, Finn was in the middle of a phone call.

“Babe, I miss you too. Come visit the pack tomorrow.”

“Oh, right. King Hayden’s coming tomorrow too. You can hitch a ride with him.”

“What? I’m just worried about you driving alone.”

“Alright, alright. Do it your way then. Just drive safe.”

Finn slowly answered with three words.

“Bellmont Center.”

I sucked in a sharp breath.

Then Finn smiled faintly.

“What? You like it?”

I hurriedly forced the shock off my face and waved my hand.

“Oh, nothing. Just asking.”

The second I finished speaking, I practically fled the office.

One insane thought exploded in my head.

Alpha Finn was Noctis.

My Alpha was my online boyfriend.

But if I was his girlfriend…

Then who the hell had he just called “babe”?

Finn, my very own Alpha, cheated on me?

Holy shit.
