You Faked Your Deaths to Punish Me?! That’s Illegal, Family! novel Chapter 58

Chapter 3

Mom’s plan kicked off at breakfast the next morning.

Halfway through, Dad started acting weird. His breathing got heavy. Sweat beaded on his forehead. He couldn’t sit still.

My hand tightened around my fork. Last time, when they drugged me, I felt exactly like this.

I still remember fighting back while Cormac sneered at me. “Quit acting innocent. Look at you squirming like a bitch in heat.”

Right then, Mom said to Dad, “Sloane and I are heading to Jett’s. Clean up when you’re done.”

He snapped back, irritated. “Yeah, I know.”

I put down my fork and left with Mom.

Once we got outside, we circled around to the alley behind the building across from ours.

That spot hugged the fence with barely a three-foot-wide path. Nobody ever walked through there.

Mom’s face was stone-cold as she stared at our building.

About fifteen minutes later, Sienna appeared at our building entrance.

Mom’s jaw clenched. “What the hell is she doing here? This is such a pain!”

With that, she pulled out her phone and made a call.

“Where are you right now?”

My heart jumped into my throat. Then I heard a voice through the phone-quiet but clear.

“Hey Linda, I’m at Jett’s place taking care of him.”

Mom froze for a second, gripping her phone tighter.

of it. “Oh… yeah, just make sure you’re careful around his leg…”

ging up, Mom immediately hissed, “I KNEW that bitch wasn’t any good!”

Those two disgusting pieces of shit!”

I watched her bite her lip so hard it bled.

Watching her suffer felt so damn satisfying.

About ten minutes later, Mom couldn’t take it anymore.

“Let’s go home!”

Every step she took was heavy-like she was stomping out her fury.

I followed silently, excitement burning in my chest.

Our building’s old-no elevator. The walk from the first floor to the fifth usually takes a minute, but today it felt endless.

Right as we got to our door, we ran into Mrs. Davidson from across the hall. She was holding grocery bags, complaining about milk prices going up again.

Just as we reached the door, two screams exploded from inside!

Mrs. Davidson’s eyes lit up like fireworks.

“Linda, was that your husband yelling?”

“Wait… I hear a woman too?”

Nosy Mrs. Davidson moved closer, trying to press her ear to the door.

Mom shoved her aside, forcing a calm expression. “It’s just Greg watching some horror movie.”

Then she grabbed me, yanked me inside, and slammed the door-almost hitting Mrs. Davidson’s face.

I scanned the living room. Clothes everywhere. A few buttons scattered on the floor. Things clearly got intense.

away. “Linda… why are you back?”

Mom glared at him with pure hatred. “If I didn’t come back, how else would I catch you two CHEATING IN MY BED?!”

Then she lunged forward, fists flying. “You HOME-WRECKING SLUT! Sleeping with someone else’s husband!”

Sienna couldn’t dodge. She just covered her head and screamed.

Dad finally realized what was happening. He growled through gritted teeth. “So YOU set this up! You-”

again.

He’s obviously stronger than Mom. Under normal circumstances, she couldn’t take him in a fight.

But right now, his most vulnerable part was literally glued to Sienna. Every movement sent waves of pain through him. All he could do was try dodging her hits.

Within minutes, both of them were covered in bruises.

But the worst damage was where they were stuck together. Blood started seeping out.

Finally, Mom stopped, panting hard. But the fury in her eyes hadn’t faded.

Dad looked humiliated and pissed. “Are you DONE now, Linda?!”

“Whatever the hell you used-FIX IT and get us apart!”

Mom let out a harsh laugh. “You had the guts to cheat, but now you can’t deal with the mess?”

Dad was shaking with rage. “YOU-”

Then he turned to me. “Sloane, I know I screwed up. But what your mom’s doing? This is completely insane!”

“Please, baby. Help your dad out.”

I looked at Mom, then said carefully, “Mom… if this drags on too long, something bad could happen.”

“And you can’t exactly keep them locked up forever. What if they call the cops later…”

I wasn’t actually trying to help them. But come on-this drama’s no fun if nobody else sees it. We need an audience.

Mom shot me a glare but reluctantly pulled out her phone and dialed 911.
