You Faked Your Deaths to Punish Me?! That’s Illegal, Family! novel Chapter 97

Chapter 6

Theo came to his senses, disregarding the rotten egg dripping down his forehead as he immediately called his assistant.

“Check on my father-in-law’s condition in prison. And find out where Delilah and my mother-in-law are. You have exactly ten minutes. If you can’t find them, don’t bother coming to Valentine Enterprises tomorrow.”

After hanging up, he wiped his forehead, nearly gagging from the stench.

He shook off the kitchen waste, removed his expensive suit jacket and frantically wiped his hair, but the smell wouldn’t go away.

Irritated, he went downstairs, threw his jacket in the trash, got in his car and headed for the office.

Nine minutes later, his assistant called back precisely on time.

“Sir, Mr. Winters, committed suicide in prison one day ago.”

“As for Mrs. Valentine and Mrs. Winters, we couldn’t locate them. We only know that a military-grade Talon SUV was parked downstairs last

night, but there’s no record of it leaving the city.”

Theo slammed on the brakes. The Toyota behind him couldn’t react in time and crashed into him.

His forehead smashed hard against the steering wheel, immediately drawing blood.

As blood trickled down his face, his mind flashed to the image of me at the funeral home, my head bleeding after being forced to kneel.

“WHY would he commit suicide? I’m asking you WHY my father-in-law would suddenly kill himself?”

The assistant was startled by the shouting and took a moment to respond, “I-I don’t know, sir. We only heard that Miss Morgan visited him

shortly before his suicide!”

Cassidy?

Theo’s brow twitched violently.

Just then, someone knocked on his window.

The Toyota’s driver stood outside, full of rage.

Theo rubbed his temple, lowered the window, and before the driver could speak, he roared:

“FUCK OFF!”

Whether it was Theo’s recognizable face or the terrifying mixture of blood and filth covering his head, the driver was stunned and quickly ran

off.

Theo pulled out his cigarette case, bit one out, but before lighting it, crushed it in frustration and threw the pieces out the window.

hat, Theo hung up, didn’t even glance at his dented bumper and trunk, and drove straight back.

When he returned to the mansion, he found it in complete disarray.

Our photos were shattered across the floor, the couple mugs I’d given him were reduced to ceramic shards, and even the sofa covers I’d bought had been cut to pieces and strewn everywhere.

Cassidy sat amidst the destruction, stubbornly staring at him, silently crying.

In the past, this sight would have melted Theo’s anger into indulgent affection.

Because she looked exactly like me during our early relationship.

But now, Theo felt she didn’t resemble me at all.

At the very least, I would never have looked so innocent and wronged after doing something terrible.

He stepped over the debris and slowly crouched in front of her.

Her reddened eyes followed his movement.

Just when she thought he would comfort her as before, he reached out and grabbed her throat.

“Who told you to destroy these things? Who gave you the courage? Who gave you the RIGHT?”

Growing angrier with each word, he pressed her face into the glass shards covering the floor.

The fragments cut into her skin, blood immediately flowing.

She desperately slapped at his hands, choking out words.

“Theo, let me go! It HURTS!”

But this time, there was no trace of the gallant Theo Valentine.

His eyes reddened at the corners, his grip tightening further.

She was in pain and terrified. This was a completely different Theo-one who wanted her dead.

“Stop! It wasn’t me! It wasn’t my idea to break everything! Delilah said she didn’t want any of it anymore-she didn’t want ANYTHING! I was just cleaning up for you!”

Theo’s hand released her suddenly.

“What did you say? Delilah came back? She told you she didn’t want anything?”

“What exactly did she say she didn’t want? Tell me PRECISELY. If you lie to me, I’ll make you beg for death.”

Clutching her chest, she coughed while scrambling backward over the glass.

Shards embedded in her palms, but she dared not make a sound of pain.

“Yes, last night, Delilah came back. She said she didn’t want anything anymore-you or anything related to you. She said she was DONE with all of it!”
