The mention of Daphne’s name made Lester frown. He had tried so hard to forget her and even resisted the urge to see her when he had to sign papers at the police 

“She has nothing to do with me. You can contact her directly,” he said before hanging up 

Bryan was sure the rwn had gotten into an argument. But with Lester around, she was likely not in danger. 

After hanging up, Lester felt like all his energy had been sucked out of him. He finally realized that falling in love was easy, but trying to forget them was much 

“Daphine, what am I supposed to do? I can’t forget you?” he muttered. 

Lester happened to glance at the badge lying on the desk 

If anyone from the Waltzan family saw Lester leave that badge lying there, they’d be shocked. It was a prized family possession that everyone else would d amthing to get their hands on 

Yet, Daphne had left it in the room when she departed and didn’t take it with 

her. 

The one thing he couldn’t give her was love. He could offer her power and wealth, but she had no interest in either.

Just then, his phone buzzed with a message. His family had arranged for him and Emily to take wedding photos tomorrow, and they’d already discussed it with the Harper family. 

Lester didn’t want to go, but there was nothing he could do about it. 

As soon as the sun rose, Lucien couldn’t wait to wake Daphne up. He swished his fluity wolf tail across her face with a smug look on his face. Now it was his tum to get back at her. 

With a sneeze, she finally woke up but then promptly fell back asleep. 

Lucien was speechless. What a lazy female.

Slu was taken aback. Did she set this alarm?

Regardless, the procedure was scheduled for today. She must have set the alarm before falling asleep and then forgotten about it.
