She turned her head away. “Thank you for saving me. I just can’t get out of bed to properly thank you. But in a couple of days, I’ll definitely send you a proper thank 

-you note”

“Colonel Lester, I’m not feeling well and need to rest. Please leave now, I’ll transfer the hospital tees to you.” 

Daphne closed breves and pretended to sleep 

Lester could tell she didn’t want to talk. Not wanting to make her uncomfortable, he decided to leave the room and sat down on a bench in the hallway instead. He took the test result from his uniform pocket, and his hands were trembling as he unfolded it. The word “pregnant” was clearly written on the report. 

When he calculated the dates, there was no doubt the child was his. He couldn’t believe he was about to become a father. 

Lester knew Daphine’s health situation well. After all, he was the one who had taken her to Beastkin Hospital for her physical exam
