On Fire novel Chapter 14

“Thank you, Ms. Molly. However, Jade has already asked for my help. She has a customer coming later.” Lily smiled and said as she looked confident.

Perhaps Molly didn’t expect she would be rejected and her face looked angry.

“I am sorry, Ms. Molly. The customer will get angry.”

Suddenly, Molly showed a sullen face. She murmured ‘Bitch was always bitchy’ and walked away. I wanted to fight back but Lily pulled me while shaking her head and told me to forget about it. Out of curiosity, I asked Lily why didn’t she go as it was such a good opportunity?

She smiled and wrapped her arms around my arm, “Ms. Cox, what kind of person she is. I would rather not earn that kind of money.”

“You are silly!”

I knew that they hated Molly.

It was almost time and the guests would be here soon so I went into a room in the lounge and called the special nurse in the hospital to ask about Dan’s condition. He had already slept and it seemed that he was in a good form. He would be transferred to a regular ward after a few days.

The special nurse’s words made me feel excited and my eyes almost became teary again.

I took a long time to calm myself before I went back to the lounge. Yet, Mr. Jones’s voice sounded on the walkie-talkie, “Barbara, are you busy now? Come here if you are not busy.”

“I am not busy yet. I am coming now!”

I briefed a few words to the girls and went upstairs to the office hurriedly. Toby Jones didn’t like noise so his office was the only quiet place in the club.
