"Sam, why don't you call him before going to him again?" Jack asked me as we walked along the corridor towards the school basketball court.

I decided to go back to Dale's school just to talk to his best friend because aside from ignoring me, he also didn't answer my calls or even sending me back a simple message. I have already asked for Dale's permission about it and he was the one who suggested me to come and visit his best friend at the university.

I need to talk to Luke before I talk to my parents about this pregnancy. I just want to know his reaction and what his plans will be. If he doesn't want to accept me--- where I already expect it to happen--- well, it's fine. I won't force him as long as he will take his part and responsibility for my baby. I'll let him do whatever he wants.

This time, Jack was the one who insisted on coming with me. She said she could handle Dale's narcissism but she won't tolerate Luke's rudeness.

"I tried, Jack, and honestly, I don't know how many times I called his phone since this morning. I even sent him messages but he didn't return any of those."

I heard her sigh.

"Fine, but are you sure he's now at the basketball court?"

"Yup, Dale sent me a message..." my words were cut when I saw her roll her eyes and I couldn't help but laugh. "Don't worry, he won't bother you this time," I said referring to my brother.

"Hmmp. I hope so."

My heart began pounding faster when we entered the basketball court. Many pairs of eyes followed us as we headed our way towards the players' quarter, but Jack grabbed my hand and motioned me to ignore them.

The first person who noticed us was Paul who also gave me a wide smile.

"Sam." He said getting up excitedly.

I greeted him back and introduced him to my best friend.

"Your brother is in the locker room." He emphasized the word 'brother' as he pointed the door to the left.

"Am I allowed to come in?"

"Of course. Do you want me to come with you?"

"No, it's okay. Thanks."

I took a deep breath before heading to the door. I don't have any idea what will happen to this conversation, but I already made up my mind. I will take all the consequences and no matter what happens, I will give this baby a happy and healthy life. I will do everything to keep him safe... or 'her', if she happens to be a girl.

I found the man I was looking for and he's talking to my brother. They both have a cup of coffee in their hand but their eyes turned into two different emotions the moment they saw me. Dale gave me a faint smile and nodded, but Luke shook his head and his lips curled with a snarl.

He left his post before I could even reach them.

"Sam."

"Dale..."

"Do you want me to talk to him?" Dale asked me with concern tied in his voice.

"No, I can do this. Thanks, Dale."

"Alright, I'll be just outside."

I nodded. "Uhm... she's with me."

He turned to me, frowning. "Who's she?"

"The woman in your dreams." I shrugged.

"What?"

"I mean, your future woman." I giggled but he just rolled his eyes.

"Tss! You're insane, Sam."

I was still laughing even when he closed the door that I hadn't noticed Luke walked over to me and stopped right behind me, so I bumped on his hard chest the moment I turned around.

"Ouch!"

"What do you want this time?"

A loud gasp escaped my throat when he dragged me towards the huge glass window.

"Let go of my hand. I'm not here to create a mess."

He granted my wish. He let me go, but with a slight push. Seriously, does he need to push me every time he's freeing my hand?

"What do you want, Sam? Didn't I tell you stop bothering me?"

"Yes, but I---"

"If you think you can trap me just because something has happened between us, then you're wrong! It was a mistake and I won't let it happen again!" He whispered-yelled.

It hurts to know how much he despises what happened but I'm willing to take it because it's my fault.

"You're the most desperate woman I ever met, don't you know that?"
